The first in a list of 100 @WelshLabour accomplishments in Cardiff since 2017, counting down, 1 per day, to our Manifesto Launch for the 2022 Local Elections.

#3 on our list is the Money Advice Service - standing up for Cardiff with practical support and advice, in the face of the Tory cost-of-living crisis

#4 on our list of Council achievement under Labour - the support provided to our schools during Covid.

And with Christmas upon us, we offer our heartfelt thanks to the Education workforce for their efforts this term, and throughout the crisis. Image
#5 delivered by @WelshLabour in charge of Cardiff Council - a sustained reduction in the numbers of people sleeping rough, bringing numbers down to record low through a innovative and individualised approach

#6 on our list is the successful focus on increasing the numbers and diversity of our in-house foster carers, and using more kinship carers, to ensure the best outcomes possible for children who are looked after.

#7 on our list is our reform of waste collection, meaning waste is off the street quicker, and that next week - after Christmas - your rubbish will be collected on the same day as usual.

#9 of Labour achievements in Cardiff - our City Food Strategy. Felt appropriate, given how the last 36 hours have gone! Image
#10 on our list is continuing to improve to our parks. Gone for a walk in Cardiff over Christmas? Chances are, it was to a park awarded a Green Flag for excellence, thanks to @cardifflabour investment and the hard work of Council staff.

#11 on our list - the hugely popular Summer of Smiles programme earlier this year, part of of wider work making Cardiff a Child Friendly City.

#12 on @cardifflabour's list of achievements is our work promoting the circular economy, in particular through opening a new Reuse Store at Lamby Way in October, that's already saved thousands of items from the skip.

#13 on our list is our work on making Cardiff an Age Friendly City, ensuring the City is a great place to grow old in, with people supported to continue living fulfilling, independent lives.

#14 of @cardifflabour achievements is successive awards for a vibrant night-time economy.

#15 is @cardifflabour's investment in the city's sports and leisure facilities - just what you need for that new year's resolution!

#16 on our list - as people's thoughts start to turn towards a spring clean - is the continuing work of the Council's blitz team, that have received extra funding in every Council budget round over the last 4 years.

#17 on our list - the rapid action to process and distribute Covid support to businesses, as well as lobbying to secure additional support. It's work that's still ongoing, with over £130 million distributed to date. Image
#18 on the list is the Into Work Service, which has provided support and advice to over 70,000 people in Cardiff looking to find work or upskill.

#19 on our list is the Single Point of Contact in hospitals - better known as the Pink Army - empowering patients to step down safely and effectively from hospital care to care in the community

#20 on our list is a huge increase in the budget for repairing roads and pavements, meaning hundreds of streets getting resurfaced every year.

#21 As our children go back to school, we've been making it easier and safer for them to do so on foot or by bike - one small part of our work to tackle childhood obesity and respond to climate change.

#22 on our list of achievements is our Bee Bus Stops - an UK first, and our Cardiff Pollinator Project, all supporting biodiversity in Cardiff #VoteBeesVoteLabour

#23 on our list is the Major Events we hosted over the last 5 years, in particular the 2017 UEFA Champions League Final, which saw 300,000 fans travel to Cardiff.

We can't wait to have such events back again, and are working hard on it behind the scenes.

#24 on our list is the unprecedented steps we took to secure supplies of PPE in response to Covid, so that vital Council services could still be delivered.

#25 on our list - a Quarter of the way through! Today we're highlighting the significant investment we put in to protect day centre provision for older people, fully refurbishing day centres in Ely, Fairwater and Llanrumney.

#26 is our work supporting and promoting Cardiff's economy, with 50,000 more people working in the city over a 5 year period, and nearly 7000 jobs created or protected in the city thanks directly to the Council's work.

#27 As the Ovo/@nextbikeUK hire scheme is reintroduced in Cardiff today with beefed up security measures, we're marking the huge uptake in the scheme since it was launched by @cardifflabour in 2018, and our determination to ensure it's future success

#28 of Labour achievements in Cardiff is our continued support for Cardiff Bus, which can be seen most visibly in the 36 new, zero-emission, electric buses which were launched today. Clean, reliable, sustainable, and coming to your neighbourhood very soon

#29 of what we've delivered since 2017 is the Local Action Teams, deployed across the city's Council Estates to help tackle persistent challenges. The success of the model means we are now looking to roll out more widely.

#30 is the multi-million pound investment Labour have invested into outdoor sports pitches and facilities. With an emphasis on 3G pitches, and partnership working with clubs, tangible improvements have been secured in every corner of the city.

#33 The City Centre Recovery Action Plan goes to Cabinet for approval tomorrow - the latest part of our response to revitalise Cardiff in the wake of Covid 19 - getting people back into the city, and protecting 70,000 city centre jobs.

#34 Yesterday we focused on the city centre. Today we focus on local neighbourhoods, and the transformation Labour have delivered in so many communities across Cardiff, through our investment in neighbourhood regeneration.

#35 As work on a new visitor centre gets underway, next on our list is our work to support bringing sailing and public access back to Llanishen and Lisvane reservoirs.

#36 The last 5 years have seen - at last - a step change in the diversity of statues and monuments in our city. We're proud of the part we've played to better acknowledge and celebrate the contribution of people of colour to Cardiff.

#37 Play is a core part of growing up. Cardiff Labour's Street Play project works to give residential streets back to our children, and brings communities together in the process - all part of creating a Child Friendly Cardiff Image
#38 Today is #InternationalDayofEducation, so we're thanking all our teaching and support staff for their hard work, and celebrating our achievements in dramatically reducing the number of NEETS in Cardiff.

#39 Under @cardifflabour, the uptake of Welsh Medium Education in Cardiff reached it's highest ever level, and we are determined to go further still as part of #Cymraeg2050. On the 100th birthday of the @Urdd, that seems like a good thing to mark

#40 on our list is the volunteer mobilisation and fundraising we initiated as part of our Covid response. The selflessness shown by Cardiffians was exemplary; the partnership between the Council and its residents showing Cardiff at it's best. Thank you.

#41 Is our investment back into Youth Services, rebuilding from years of austerity, and working with young people to co-design services.

#42 is of course the Ultimate Answer, and there is no bigger question for all of us currently than how we respond to climate change. So today we look at the huge strides achieved since 2017, and the ambitious goals set to be carbon neutral by 2030.

#43 is our work making 20mph the default speed for residential areas. 20 is plenty, and we're proud of our leading work on this, which will soon be emulated across the rest of Wales thanks to our @WelshLabour Government.

#45 Today's talk of a #Brexit Bill confirms that an 'oven ready' Brexit was just a Tory slogan. Achievement #45 looks at our work to mitigate the impacts so far, and our support for EU citizens in Cardiff directly affected.

#50 Never mind he rugby, let's look at a positive - so many sports clubs in Cardiff are flourishing, thanks in part to close partnership with the Council, helping deliver targeted interventions to access funding and progress up their league.

#68 Council tax rises are never easy, but we've protected services whilst keeping tax rises comparatively low (in a Welsh context) and significantly below the average in England. Our budget proposals this year = just 48p per week more for Band D properties

#69 Over the last 5 years, we've consistently provided a welcome and sanctuary in Cardiff for refugees fleeing violence and persecution. We stand ready to do so again, and are proud to declare that Refugees are Welcome here

#70 Our Local Toilet Strategy, and our ongoing investment in facilities - recognising that for some people the need to access public toilets is especially important - seeks to ensure provision is in place so everyone can enjoy Cardiff's amenities.
