@united my sister is at the airport and she got to the counter and they said her ticket is bought and paid for, she has an eticket confirmation and confirmation number but there is “no booking” so she can’t get on her international flight. It leaves in an hour now.

I have been on hold trying to rectify this. She is just standing there and they said they can’t help her.

I purchased the flight on Nov 21st over the phone. There is no indication of any problem. I have all receipts and emails with confirmations. Please advise because I can not get through on your phone line and she is going to miss her @lufthansa flight to Germany and connection.

I would like to know how the hell this is not a legitimate ticket and why my sister can not board her flight?! They are saying she has a purchased ticket AND confirmation but no booking, so no seat. She is at the @lufthansa @Lufthansa_USA counter at @flyLAXairport. @united

Well I am over here crying now. I swear. The things I’ve gone through to try to get my family to have a decent Christmas and celebrate my sister finishing her semester in Copenhagen. Like this has been so stressful and I try to do everything right.

I haven’t seen my Mom in over two years because of Covid and they told my sister they could see that my Mom’s plane ticket was also bought, paid for, and confirmed but had no seat or booking either. So she wouldn’t be allowed on next week. Like seriously, I’m just floored.

We even received this today:

Been on hold for an hour with @united Still no rep. Was contacted thru Twitter. Here is the latest:

I have been on the phone for TWO hrs now. One hr on hold, one w the @united rep. She says @lufthansa @Lufthansa_USA never confirmed her reservation even tho no problem was indicated. Rep says they have her booked on the next flight BUT rep can’t get confirmation from Lufthansa!

At this point she is in the EXACT same position as before. If they are shitty to her at the @Lufthansa_USA counter again she is going to leave and go home because her ADHD and Anxiety can’t take this. And she shouldn’t have to!

Welp, the @Lufthansa_USA agent at the LAX counter treated my sis like shit. There is “nothing he can do”. She wouldn’t “make the next flight anyway”. So she is going home.

I am STILL on the phone with @united and she can’t get in touch with @lufthansa. No reps are responding.

I asked @united rep if she could give my sis a seat upgrade for all this. She said NO bc this is a @lufthansa flight. But Lufthansa is their partner operating this leg. FIX IT.

And NO CREDIT (I bought ticket) unless I fill out paperwork detailing what happened. Then “maybe”!!

It’s 1:45am here and I have to be out by 8am to help my other sister move out of her dorm room. So the @united rep told me to “have a rest” and she will call me back. She said she is “determined to get through to @lufthansa” and have my sister on the 3:05 flight tomorrow.

FYI EVERYONE, apparently this is a @lufthansa @Lufthansa_USA problem. This is my first time dealing with them and I can honestly say I have never experienced anything like this.

It has been nine hours in total and I still have no new flight for my sister confirmed. I was told I would get a call back from the @united agent when she was able to reach @Lufthansa_USA @lufthansa and confirm the ticket. (I’d been on the phone for 3hrs w her) Never heard back.

OK! SUCCESS! The @united rep last night was able to get the flight confirmed with @lufthansa! @Lufthansa_USA @lufthansa I will be DMing you now with the info - PLEASE ensure she will be upgraded to a first class seat!

Now they are saying I cancelled my sister’s flight on Nov 14th. I hadn’t even purchased this flight on Nov 14th. I used a *credit* + more $$ from a total different, previous flight with United (cancelled on the 14th) to book this flight on Nov 17th. Confirmed via phone on 11/21.

So apparently there is confirmation # but STILL NO TICKET. Because @united believes the ticket is an *exchange* from yesterday’s bungled and therefore missed flight. And @Lufthansa_USA thinks this is *new* flight bc I somehow cancelled a flight I hadn’t purchased yet on Nov 14th.

Finally got a ticket.

I still can’t believe that after all this they won’t issue an automatic upgrade.
It’s really unconscionable.

And @Lufthansa_USA tried to say this was MY fault. Accused me of canceling this flight SEVEN DAYS before I even booked it. Then said my sister has to ask (ie plead/beg) for an upgrade at the counter and it MAY be given “out of goodwill”. WTF.

It’s not even an Expedia flight. ?

Like they somehow “researched” and found a flight that had NOTHING to do with to do with their airline and said “you canceled that flight so that’s why she wasn’t on this flight.” Literally an entirely different booking canceled A WEEK before I PURCHASED this one.

I’m sorry I’m going on and on abt this, but it’s upsetting. Like it’s such a ridiculous thing for @Lufthansa_USA to get wrong and then try to pass the blame to me. And @united too for confirming a booking their partner airline operating this route had not confirmed on their end.

And then NEITHER wants to compensate or upgrade. Just acting like they are doing me a favor by giving me a flight I PAID FOR, *a day later*, after making my sis stand in line for several hours, then me spending 3 hours on the phone and back and forth arguing for over 10 hours.

Welp. Now I know.

Y’ALL! My sister got to the ticket counter and they said this new ticket was CANCELLED. Because the “ticket doesn’t match the reservation”. It somehow has my Mom’s name and my sister’s name on the same ticket. WHAT?!? My mom is on a totally different flight with another airline.

I think they pulled the info off of an old @united flight. The canceled one that had nothing to do with @Lufthansa_USA . And I don’t know why. I used $$ credit from that one, so maybe that was United’s fault. But it’s a different confirmation code, so I really don’t understand.🤷🏾‍♀️

@Lufthansa_USA fixed it at the counter THANK GOD. Then her bag was a few lbs overweight and they had her take stuff out. She almost left at that point. We were on the phone and she started breaking down. I just hope with her anxiety/ADHD this doesn’t put her off traveling forever

And y’all wonder why people need their whole dog at the airport for emotional support. 😂 We need our dogs and Jesus to get us to the gate.
