Soon after killing Ravana, Ram meets Sita in Vibhishan's palace and says - O fortunate one ! Having defeated the enemy in battle, you have been won back by me. I have thus achieved what could be accomplished through manliness. I have cleansed the oppression.

When you were alone, you were abducted by Ravana; that was a taint brought about by destiny. As a human, I have vanquished it. If a man doesn't use his energy to cleanse disrespect that has been shown to him, what is point of his manliness? Sita's eyes became full of tears

Rama says - O fortunate one, Let it be known to you this exertion in the field of battle, accomplished well because of my well-wishers, was not undertaken for your sake. My conduct has always been as to ward off bad reputation in every possible way.

I have cleansed the blemish that was associated with my famous lineage. You are standing in front of me and that is doubt on your character. I am firm in my antipathy towards you, just as a person suffering in the eyes detests a lamp - says Raghava.

Therefore, O Janaka's daughter - you have my permission to go wherever you want. Ten direction exists. I have nothing to do with you, if a women has resided in house of another, which man, will take her again in a happy frame of mind? Ravana has looked at you with wicked eyes.

I have won you for a reason & i have got the fame back. I have no attachment for you, you can go wherever you desire. if it makes you happy , you can turn your mind towards lakshmana or Bharata or Sugriva or Vibhishana. O Sita - Turn you mind towards whatever makes you happy.

When Maithilee heard these unpleasant words spoken by her beloved; she has flood of tears & trembled severely for a long period of time. She wiped her face and spoke in low voice to Ram - O brave one, I am not what you take me to be, you should have trust in me.

Sita added - I swear on my character. O Lord, I didn't go to him. My heart was under my control and devoted to you. You have turned your back towards my devotion, good conduct and everything else. Her voice choked with tears, she said this and more and wept.

Sita then spoke to Lakshmana - O Soumitri, prepare a funeral pyre for me. Having suffered a false accusation, I am not interested in remaining alive. It is better that I should enter a fire, the destination for those who don't have destination.

Soumitri understood what was in Rama's mind. given the Ram's inclination Soumitri prepared a funeral pyre. With her face lowered, Vaidehi circumambulated Ram & approached the blazing fire. Her hands in Salutation to Gods and Brahmins.

Sita said - " If my heart has always been with Raghava and never wavered, let the fire, which is a witness to the world, save me in every possible way"; without any hesitation in her mind, she entered the blazing fire.

King Vaishravana, Yama, Indra, Varuna, Mahadev & Brahma - all of them arrived in the vimanas that were as radiant as sun. Brahma spoke then to Raghava - You are lord of all the worlds. You are the beginning and end of this world. Like ordinary human, you are ignoring Vaidehi.

Why don't you comprehend your nature as the best among all the Gods. How can you ignore Sita, when she descends into fire? Rama responded - I am a human & I am Dashratha's son; please tell me who I am and what I am?

When Rama said this, Brahma responded - O Ram, Hear the truth. You are Narayan. You have the chakra in the hand. You are without decay, You are Krishna, You are supreme dharma in the world. You are the origin. You are the destruction. You are the soul of the Vedas & so on.

Brahma continued - You entered the human body in this world for the sake of killing Ravana. You have performed the task for us. You are Vishnu. Sita is Lakshmi. Now that Ravana has been killed, we can cheerfully return to heaven.

Hearing the auspicious words spoken by Grandfather, Fire god (agni) arose holding Vaidehi in his lap. she was like the rising sun. Fire god gave her to Ram. The fire, witness of the world, told Rama - This is Vaidehi & there is no sin in her. She has always followed you.

Her sentiments are pure and she us faultless. Her mind has always been devoted to you. O Raghav, Accept her. I am commanding you. Ram, replied to Agni - Before the three world, Sita certainly needed to be purified. She has spent long time in Ravan's residence.

Had Janakee not been purified, people would have told me that Rama is foolish and driver by desire. I know that Maithilee is single mindedly devoted to me, However I am devoted to Truth. For sake of persuading three worlds, I ignored Sita when she entered fire.

Sita is protected through her own energy and Ravan could not violate her. Ravana was unable to approach Vaidehi even in her thoughts. She was like fire and there is no question of his approaching or oppressing her. Sita is not separate from me. Sita has been purified before world

because of his deeds, he was praised by the extremely strong ones. The immensely strong Rama was united with his beloved. Raghava, who deserved happiness, was happy.
