When Valmiki completed his #Ramayana, Narada said 'It's good, but Hanuman's is better'.

#Valmiki didn't like that and wondered whose Ramayana was better. He found #Hanuman Ramayana inscribed on seven broad leaves of a banana tree. He read it and found it to be perfect.
The most exquisite choice of grammar and vocabulary, metre & melody. He couldn't help himself. He started to cry. Is it so bad?asked Hanuman No, it's so good, said Valmiki 'Then why are u crying? asked Hanuman.Bcoz after reading ur Ramayana no one will read mine, replied Valmiki.
Hearing this Hanuman tore up the banana leaves stating now no one will ever read Hanuman's Ramayana But why? asked Valmiki.Hanuman said, U need ur Ramayana more than I need mine. You wrote ur Ramayana so that the world remembers Valmiki I wrote my Ramayana so that I remember Ram.

#India's Supreme Court clears the way for construction of #Hindu temple on site of destroyed #BabriMasjid in #Ayodhya.

I've been following this issue for 30+ years. Here's a thread analyzing the #AyodhyaJudgment:

-I first visited #Ayodhya (& #BabriMasjid) in 1990: before the masjid was destroyed, before I entered the field of #anthropology. I went there while researching my first book, "Arrow of the Blue-Skinned God": A re-tracing of the #Hindu epic #Ramayana...

...In my book, I take what I hope is an even-handed approach. For what it's worth, I've received approving messages from #Hindutva activists & #secularists alike. You can judge for yourself:

As the tense wait for the #AYODHYAVERDICT spreads across the country, one wonders how many people of my generation and younger have ever read the #Ramayana with any care. Tempted to start a thread of the Ramayana.
Ram (sometimes written as Rama) is an insignia of how the traditional Indian mind considered righteousness. The Ramayana (and the Mahabharata) is/are not ethnically confined. I would argue it (they) belong to, and live in, every Indian. And anyone, any land ever touched by India.
The Ramayana is - as many have noticed - less 'complex' than the Mahabharata. It has fewer characters and sub-plots. To journey from the Ramayana to the Mahabharata is to see a society evolve.

They crossed the river which is red & yellow. Today it's known as Coral Sea Australia. Then they would reach the Gimpey pyramid of Australia. Through Sugreeva, writer Valmiki further describes that after crossing this huge island (Shalmali Dwipa/Austalia)..

#THREAD to clear misconceptions that Lord Rama🕉️ is not worshipped much in South India:

We have 1000's of Rama temples in our South India..almost in every village, town of Telugu states.

Don't fall for lies by Le-Lis, #Dumeels, Hinduphobes & doubt Lord Rama's worship in South.

I believe that Respected @SadhguruJV ji used these words accidentally.

@SadhguruJV ji said "Maybe Rama is not such a big icon in the south."

That's false & only Anti-Hindu, Dravidian-#DMK gangs do such nonsense.
We South Hindus don't.

Maricha : Golden Deer Story in Valmiki #Ramayana
Ravan desired to kidnap #Sita, the wife of Rama and asked Maricha to help him in his task. However, he suggested #Ravana to stay away from any conflict with Rama and Lakshmana
@theramayana @idreamofghouls
Then Ravan blamed Mareecha for ill-will toward himself, and threatened him with death. He out of fear consented, though he looked for no less than death from Ram.

Maricha and Ravana flew to Panchavati. Mareecha transformed himself into a golden deer, captivated Sita’s attention
. He had the motto to distract Rama and Lakshmana away from the hut so that Ravan could kidnap Sita.

The golden deer lured Sita. She pleaded with Rama to capture it. Ram aware that this was the play of the demons, was unable to dissuade Sita from her desire....

I will be posting my thoughts on Ramayana as I read it. Would love to know your response. RT would be appreciated.

This is Balkand Ch. 1. In this Sarg, DevRishi Narad narrates the Summary of Ramayana to the readers via Sage Valmiki.
@Aabhas24

This chapter is like Synopsis or short Summary of whole Ramayana. As it is evident from last verse, There is no restriction on any person any Varna from reading Ramayana. Any person who reads it will Excel in his specific field of work.
@gopugoswami @AkshayChaitanya

This summary as said by Narad Rishi talks about Rajyabhishek of Lord Ram. His Ram Rajya. But no mention of Luv kusha or Sita going forest. Why would the author miss this detail? Was this chapter written when luv kusha were not born? Or was Uttar Kand added later?

Good to know, @PiyushGoyal recite “ला इलाहा इल्लल्लाह मुहम्मदुन रसूलुल्लाह” as part of his pujas.

All BJP Ministers/MPs/MLAs can take cue from this & give their contribution towards #SabkaVishwas!

Suggest @narendramodi to recite it 4m #RedFort on #August15. It may do wonders😊
Excellent Idea👍
And that will be big-tribute to #MahatmaGandhi as well, who will be vaery happy watching this from above.

Please do it @narendramodi !!
Please EXPLAIN it to those first who think Quran supersede all other religious books. Your दो कौड़ी के लोग:
a) hackled #IshratJahan for reciting #HanumanChalisa
b) Beaten Dilshad for reading #Ramayana #Gita at home
Try teaching those जाहिल, भाईचारा first😎

Ancient India was not purely religious. If You see main Hindu Scriptures like Vedas, Upnishad, and Samhita they are collection of philosophies, scientific data and facts. They worshipped nature and were experts in Science, astronomy, mathematics.

Just because the language is Sanskrit, Leftists reject it to be unscientific and religiously motivated.
In recent time ie last few hundred years, many distortion n misinterpretation has been done too and readers who don't know Sanskrit tend to believe it.
Let's dive in brief
#RigVeda: It's full of the geographical data about India. Research on Rig Veda have proven and can be further verified that Our Civilization was River based and most important one was Saraswati. We worshipped nature. eg Agni, Varun, Indra.
