This thread/article points out an important aspect of extremism & veterans: purpose and meaning.

Other important factors are identity and a sense of belonging/community/brotherhood.

I didn’t find any data on suicide deaths of veterans for the last couple of years, but…1/
…it would be interesting to see if there has been a drop from the widely reported statistic of 22 per day, because it’s conceivable that militia membership would have a mitigating effect on those suicide numbers.

Some thoughts/observations on a potentially complex interplay of sleep deprivation, social media/Facebook attention/addiction, the hijacking of the cerebral cortex (executive function/reason) by the amygdala (emotion), and personality trait-influenced fake news propagation. 1/

Yes…manipulation/exploitation of neuropsychological fear responses to not only create the perception of chaos, but to create literal chaos. Because when people sense/fear chaos, they will vote for, or in extreme cases, violently install a “strong man” to restore “order”. 1/

The Right incites the country with Communist/Socialist rhetoric, while simultaneously conditioning the base to support actual Communists/Socialists, and Marxist rhetoric...all in the name of "America First".
