If you think Toney can't/doesn't score goals in the Premier League, you do not know how to evaluate players.

Box play he's up there with Tammy Abraham (who's one of the best in the world). Strikes the ball with conviction/inevitability. Beats defenders for fun. It's silly.
His aerial play is up there with DCL. Defenders would be terrified of him in a good side. A bit of Drogba about him.
Watch his Championship season to see his box instincts.

New creature in the Premier League doing what they said Tammy could not do: link play/make others better/get his team up the pitch.
He is basically the Auba + Laca ST y'all want so much. Been scoring goals all his life. That's how he got in the Premier League. You guys are unserious.

Never really cared about Tottenham either way if you've noticed but it seems that Conte will wake up the Kane/Son duo again. A solid foundation behind them and some service is all these two need to put Tottenham in a T4 race. And that is exactly what Conte will provide for them.
Now that they are out of Europe, the margins are tight. Especially if we get one or two significant injuries. We might need to move the ST signing to January. May be more expensive but.
The problem with Conte is not Conte himself but the fact that he has two legitimate world-class decisive forwards at his service—something we sorely lack (especially before Martinelli).

Since we have not reached a position of outsized significant strength in our rebuild, Spurs

Arsenal out here building a team for the ages under Guardiola's protégé who is managing for the very first time and people are writing 10K-words analysis on Bodø Glimt.
Talk about writing 12,000 words on a John Carver profile the night Jesus Christ was born.
I'm not against diversity, for sure. Someone has to look into and write about Bodø. But it's just curious to me how there's so little super thorough analysis into Arsenal under Arteta.

One of the most interesting teams in the world largely in the dark.

Now, it is time to finally introduce everyone to Mr. Sancho Quinn, a former Premier League performance analyst and Arsenal fan, who recommended Gabriel and Sambi Lokonga to Arsenal long before they actually did get them.

RT this, guys.

Sancho and I covered quite a few topics in this conversation and there should be a bit in it for everyone: from data analysts to the everyday fan.

We talked about player data models, the data-driven explosion of new talent both on the pitch and off it, Arsenal's rebuild...
Performance analyst for West Ham and Crystal Palace. Now at Metrica Sports. You can follow Sancho Quinn here on Twitter if you want, @SanchoQuinn. I'd recommend that.

Liverpool need to go with a 3+2 in build-up, not 3+1. Therefore 4-2-3-1. Tottenham have 5-2-3 high.
If this continues, Liverpool will struggle to establish control against a high Tottenham press. Just a numbers and angles game.
Oh. Conte is alternating between a 5-3-2 and 5-2-3.

That's like, utterly, brilliant. Forces Liverpool to compensate and overcompensate at times. Lmao.

Broja is a good talent but there's never been a more obvious 30M plus appearances bonuses deal to Everton where he'll spend the rest of his life being a problem to top teams with regular 14G 3A seasons and a constant rumour of a move to Napoli always over his head.
Fun tweet but yeah. Has a very great skillset outside the box. Little inside it. Southampton in retrospect was the perfect loan for him. Bundesliga would also have been great for him.

The only way he levels up to being the main striker for a top top side is if he suddenly
develops the skillset of someone like Tammy Abraham inside the box.

If he can, he becomes one of the greats in the game. If he doesn't, the first tweet applies.

How did half of the world waste our time talking Messi vs Ronaldo in Messi's prime?

The greatest ever was doing it week in week out and we were out there comparing him to a taller version of Salah.
Ronaldo was great, too, man. Perhaps the best wide outlet in history. Leaner and meaner version of Henry. But he'll be nothing super special over half a century with special outlets like Salah, Mbappé popping out of the woodwork.
I was a Cristiano fan for ten years. But the more I understood the game, the more I understood the gap between the very best history has ever seen versus one of the greats.
