They anticipated the need so much that they refused to waive IP protections so that more vaccines could be made worldwide and in doing so helped create the situation where Omicron was created. Total gaslighting by @chrislhayes here. One of the worst segments he’s done in a while

Literally the argument against boosters was in part that new variants would be created if we said screw everyone but the US and thus getting them vaccinated should be prioritized and Hayes even did segments covering this yet now he’s lying to the point where I guarantee you

The higher ups stepped in and told him that this is the line people at MSNBC were to take about this or else. Can’t be actually blaming the incoming disaster on the Biden admin botching the hell out of things.

I’ve watched Hayes for years and I’m ready to say that this is the single most disingenuous/unethical segment I’ve ever seen him run. It’s Tucker Carlson levels of gaslighting and distortion

The segment even shows a quote saying that two people resigned over boosters saying it would be better spent on the unvaccinated without mentioning that they were specifically talking about those in other countries without access for the very purpose of trying to stop a variant

I remember him actually covering this story on his show when it first happened and he made sure to note that’s what the dissent was about and him saying it wasn’t a bad argument.

This is going to be a disaster. There’s no way Hayes would embarrass himself to this degree unless his higher ups put as much pressure as possible which they would only do if the Biden admin put as much as possible which in turn they’d only do if they’re expecting a nightmare

So many people are going to get Omicron and apparently the Biden admin is only focused on trying to spin it, instead of trying to deal w it as best as possible to lower numbers.

Biden admin clearly has decided we are screwed and all that they can do is try to shift the blame and hope their approval numbers and generic House Dems numbers only drop a certain extent and not the worst case scenario.

They still won’t even tell people to stay home for the holidays. That’s how weak they have been on this. They’re gonna say it’s only unvaccinated when w Omicron it’s not. Yes it’s way worse for those unvaccinated, but even vaccinated people need to be cautious as hell right now

Last I checked which was literally last week they’re rapid response team on Twitter hadn’t even tweeted since before thanksgiving and before omicron was well known

Oh ya and as I said elsewhere but not in this thread, Kamala was quoted this week, it might have even been in the past 3 days, as saying the administration were blind sided by omicron
