I watched TRMS on MSNBC tonight. Bernie Sanders was interviewed on his opinion about Manchin.

I’m getting extremely frustrated with progressives and their unrealistic expectations in Canada and the US. And wishy washy Liberals are seriously pissing me off as well.

I understand peaceniks’ inability to use force to achieve a goal. I too have limitations due to PTSD.

That is self awareness. Regardless of personal ambitions, leaders require awareness of their personal limitations.

Sometimes others are more suited to completing a task.

Fighting authoritarianism and those who are currently using it to dismantle democracy is one of those tasks better suited to others.

Force is required to push back on authoritarians. There are no other negotiating tactics or verbal demands that will change the power dynamics.

This is the current problem in geopolitics. Liberals are convinced that negotiation is their only tool and progressives have taken to verbal demands bordering on authoritarianism.

The utter lack of self awareness & the inexperience addressing obstructionism is killing democracy.

First let’s deal with progressives. Few have actual experience governing. They have morally lofty ideals that they demand be adopted. Their strategy is demanding it be implemented or they will assassinate your character and berate you. That’s not a strategy, it’s a tantrum.

The Liberals are trying desperately to cling to democratic principles by negotiating endlessly with people who have no intention of budging an inch to compromise, on either end of the political spectrum.

Right about now many Liberals are figuring out negotiation isn’t working.

Both Progressives and Liberals are stymied by their lack of success.

Any realist could have told them failure was guaranteed before they started.

Obstructionism is an authoritarian tactic. A strategy used to refuse to compromise one’s ideals, goals, control & power.

Fascists are using obstructionism to dismantle democracy.

There are principles of democracy which are essential elements to its success.

Cooperation is one.

Without it, democracy is NOT possible.

Which is kind of the point of obstruction.

To stop progress.

To kill it.

Obstructionism is an act of aggression. It’s done intentionally to impede ANY progress.

Impeding progress can be seeking appeasement to unreasonable demands or absolute refusal to cooperate. It also can be failure to recognize deliberate obstructionism.

Both the US & Canada are experiencing all three. Progressives seek adoption of their demands, regardless whether the outcomes they want will be a result, are realistic or will create more problems. They believe their policies are feasible, even if based on emotion vs science.

They obstruct policies by liberals that aren’t progressive enough. Perfect is good. Good is inferior. And trying to force the issue counts more than actually helping the people they claim to represent. Bernie said it today. At least we will have tried.

Trying is akin to the road of good intentions, and we all know where that leads. Nowhere near actual financial relief or bolstering human rights. We need success, not a ribbon for participation.

Pity those who have put all their hopes in people who count “trying” as sufficient.

The conservatives or far right have dug their heels in and will except nothing but full control and absolute power. Every action taken is to thwart any progress, no matter how good it is for their constituents. Liberals cannot be given a win. They must fail at every attempt.

If they do win, their victory must be demeaned, discounted, criticized for any compromise and conservatives superiority must be the main take away.

As predictable as sunrise. Conservatives refuse to participate in democracy and make every attempt to undermine it at any cost.

Liberals have caught a terrible case of democratic appeasement. Like battered wife syndrome, they make concessions to the bullies, regardless of ideology, to keep the tensions lower. Every time that’s done they reinforce their continued abuse by bullies.

Have Liberals never heard of Neville Chamberlain? The Russian White Movement? The SA of Germany?

Infamous appeasers who failed to protect the principles of democracy while trying to appease the obstructionists and intimidators.

Appeasement doesn’t work.

But Liberals are bound and determined to prove it does, because it’s worked in the past.

Yes it’s worked when both sides agree peace and democratic governance is the objective.

It does not work when one power centre wants to obliterate all the others and gain absolute power.

When the threat is existential, force becomes the only defence. Someone trying to murder you means the laws about murder being a crime become irrelevant. Laws and principles only work when all parties agree on the rules and required cooperation.

When principles & laws are abandoned, like during warfare, there are no guidelines that keep us from using increased intensity.

Democratic approved force is restricted to legislation, enforcement of law and order, criminal prosecution, civil prosecution and peaceful protests.

There are fail safes built into democracy. We need to use them, and stop trying to appease fascists and unrealistic progressives.

And if you aren’t the person to be forceful, get the heck out of the way because we are losing this war.

Chuck Schumer must be replaced.

Chuck wouldn’t say 💩 if his mouth were full of it. He takes the path of appeasement as often as possible. He’s Neville Chamberlain reborn. Get Chuck out and put in a fighter. Someone who will ruffle feathers appropriately. The goal is to progress, not create kinetic civil war.

I have noticed LPC has shifted ever so slightly into battle mode since the election. That needs to increase and continue. Same with Biden and his foreign policy. Appeasement is for peaceniks and disparate groups that want to coexist peacefully. That ship sailed a long time ago.

Illegal isn’t an option. But force is part of the repertoire of available tools that needs to be used now, not later.

Progressives… the horse often thinks it’s pulling the cart independently, but it’s the driver steering where the horse goes. You’re a horse. Not the driver.

Nothing is stopping progressives from being the driver but their sanctimony, radical adherence to ideology vs reality and inexperience governing for ALL. Revolutions only work when the majority support the enormous changes through electoral victory. That didn’t happen.

Acknowledging the realities of the current situation and adjusting strategies would be highly advisable.

Fascists don’t follow rules. They don’t negotiate and they don’t care if people get hurt or die.

Karl Popper spelled it out clearly. We can no longer tolerate intolerance.
