GDP growth has been revised from 1.3% to 1.1% in Q3 2021.

However, upward revisions to 2020 means GDP in Q3 is 1.5% below its pre pandemic level ow.ly/7tzw50Hh5Ui

11,930 deaths were registered in England and Wales in the week ending 10 December 2021 (Week 49).

This was

▪ 271 more than the previous week
▪ 1,235 (11.5%) more deaths than the five-year average

6.4% of all deaths registered in the week ending 10 December mentioned #COVID19 on the death certificate in England and Wales (764 deaths).

This was a decrease in the number of deaths from the previous week (792 deaths, 6.8% of all deaths).

In England, 708 deaths involving #COVID19 were registered in the week ending 10 December (fewer than the 729 deaths registered the previous week).

In Wales, 54 deaths involving COVID-19 were registered in this week (fewer than the 61 registered the previous week).

The number of unemployed people per vacancy fell to a record low of 1.2 in August-October 2021, after reaching a pandemic peak in April-June 2020

The fall was largely driven by the unprecedented number of vacancies ow.ly/jfhO50HfeOs

With a record 1.2 million job vacancies in the three months to November 2021, our latest survey shows more than half of businesses who reported a worker shortage stated they were unable to meet demands.

A high number of workers aged under 35 went from work a year ago into unemployment by Quarter 2 2020.

Inactivity for workers aged 55+ also rose early in the pandemic, and while movements to inactivity were lower in the same quarter in 2021, they remained higher than in 2019.

Between 1 Jan and 31 Oct 2021, the monthly age-standardised mortality rates (ASMRs) for deaths involving #COVID19 have been consistently lower for people who received a second dose of the vaccine at least 21 days ago compared with unvaccinated people ow.ly/kabn50Hfeuq

Over the whole period (1 Jan to 31 Oct 2021), the age-adjusted risk of deaths involving #COVID19 was 96% lower in people who had received a second dose at least 21 days ago compared with unvaccinated people ow.ly/kabn50Hfeuq

The difference in age-adjusted risk of deaths involving #COVID19 for people who had received a second dose at least 21 days ago compared with unvaccinated individuals varied from 99% (in Feb) to 78% (in Oct) ow.ly/kabn50Hfeuq
