2) If it was easy, there would have been many inspiring stories like Falguni Nayar's, who left a well-established job to pursue her entrepreneurial ambition.
3) A graduate of IIM Ahmedabad, she has spent over 20 years working as an investor and merchant with Kotak Mahindra Group.

4) Before leading the institutional equity business, she managed the group's global operations in the United States and the United Kingdom.
5) Since 2005, she has served as a group's managing director for the business venture saving money.

6) Falguni Nayar became CEO of Nykaa in April 2012, after leaving her "perfect" existence behind.
7) Around Diwali 2012, the website was first launched, and it became commercially available in 2013.

8) She saw the growth of the online market in India. Her passion for makeup and the opportunity to create a platform such as this were why she chose the beauty section.
9) She started the company inspired by entrepreneurs such as Ronnie Screwvala of UTV and Ajay Bijli of PVR Cinemas.

10) Also seeing her father run a modest bearings business made her realize she wanted to be an entrepreneur.
11) Nykaa was born when she had some spare time after her children (twins Anchit and Adwaita) left for their studies in the US.

12) Nykaa, derived from Nayika, which means "the actress of one's life," is unquestionably the ideal name to adorn and encourage women.
13)She has successfully curated over 850 brands and 135,000 products, effectively bridging the gap and changing the way women purchase.

14)Their two retail formats are Nykaa Luxe and Nyka On Trend.
15) Luxe offers international beauty brands, as well as Nykaa Beauty, an in-house beauty collection, and On Trend, a collection of popular market products.

16)In 2015, the company switched from an online-only to an omnichannel model and began selling products other than beauty.
17) In March 2016, the young but extremely successful online beauty brand debuted private labeled items in the bath and body care sector, with a target audience of 22 – 35 years old.

37) Nykaa has more than 50 Lac monthly users, 1.3 Lac+ products of 500 different brands available via its website, app, and 80 stores in India
38) Her goal is to more than triple its brick-and-mortar store count to 300, considerably expanding its offline footprint in the country.

2) After his schooling from a Tamil medium government school, Sridhar went on to do his graduation from IIT Madras, followed by a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
3) Earlier Sridhar aspired to become a professor and he had already published a mathematical paper, but then he realized that he wanted to do something more innovative.
