Many thanks @chucktodd @MeetThePress on a serious discussion regarding our vulnerabilities to omicron led by a depleted healthcare workforce that will be susceptible to symptomatic covid if they are >2 months away from their booster. Even if they’re not…
not seriously if they’re at home when there is a surge in our hospitals and ICUs from both omicron and delta (here in Houston we had our first omicron death last night) that’s a problem
For that reason I think we should consider offering second boosters to HCWs to keep them in the workforce. Also another problem: at least one of the mabs maybe two not effective vs omicron due to SGTF and we don’t yet have Paxlovid available
Many thanks to @thelauracoates for hosting me @DonLemonTonight with @DrLeanaWen I offered my opinion that the attack on my friend colleague Dr Fauci is not unique to Jesse Watters, just as Laura Ingraham’s attacks on me are not specific to her, it’s worse
This is an overarching attempt by FoxNews and other conservative outlets to not only discredit science in America 🇺🇸 but also prominent US scientists. The conservative news outlets, far right members of US Congress, far right think tanks work to portray us as enemies of the state
Many thanks @AnaCabrera for having me back after @POTUS remarks allowing me to outline in graphic detail the public health damage from a antivaccine groups: now 200,000 unvaccinated Americans dead since June covid. They died because of defiance, victims of…
…victims of antivaccine antiscience aggression, now one of the leading killers of young and middle aged adults in America. And the reality is that the Biden Administration won’t confront this. Instead they focus on social media and FB seemingly tone deaf to those generating..

Many thanks @AnaCabrera @GloriaBorger for hosting me @CNNnewsroom ahead of @POTUS news conference today, and how he manages to speak to two Covid nations, one mostly all in on vaccines and other medical interventions, the other refusing vaccines
Here’s what we know so far, last night here in Houston we had our first omicron death from a 50 yo man who was infected and recovered but not vaccinated. We should recognize that serious even deadly covid reinfections will occur
Also, we know from data released by Imperial College London that just 2 doses of Pfizer vaccine does not really protect against symptomatic infection, maybe some modest protection against serious omicron infection. Hence the need for a booster, which is essential. Even then…
Many thanks @EricaRHill@JohnBerman for hosting me @NewDay this morning. I voiced several concerns regarding our new omicron wave that will soon be upon us. Among them…
1. Having our healthcare workforce at home with symptomatic covid, based on UK studies released last week showing booster protection wanes quickly vs omicron from 70-75% to 30-40% after a couple of months. I’ve made recommendations to fix this now @latimeslatimes.com/opinion/story/…
2. Lack of Rx options. At least one of our mabs not effective vs omicron due to SGTF mutations and as @EricTopol points out in his new opinion piece we don’t have paxlovid in quantity theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
No worries Congresswoman, no one wants to force vaccinations on you. But if are not vaccinated it is likely you will develop symptomatic Covid, either from delta-omicron, or if you’ve been infected previously, omicron reinfection. You risk hospitalization or longCovid or both
But her message is a chilling one: that defiance of COVID19 vaccines is somehow a noble or heroic act. It is not. Her language and the language of like minded congressional colleagues has contributed to the untimely unnecessary deaths of 150,000 unvaccinated Americans since June
Antiscience aggression as exemplified by this member of the US Congress is now a leading killer of the American 🇺🇸 people. Her comments are both dangerous and unpatriotic
Many thanks @AlexWitt for hosting me as I go through our 3 elements of our latest wave: 1) delta, 2) omicron, 3) omicron among HCWs. Let’s breakdown each…
First delta, we were expecting that wave anyway and it’s still landing the unvaccinated in the hospital and our ICUs mostly responsible for the 1,300 deaths per day. None of those lives have to be lost
Second, omicron it’s so transmissible likely Ro > delta maybe even approaching measles numbers. That feature will make omicron highly disruptive. Historically waves last a couple of months so we should anticipate 2 months more/less disruptions to NFL NBA Bowl games workforce
