It's historic that the Chilean people voted overwhelmingly against a far-right candidate who represented Pinochet's legacy, but don't let this blind you to the fact that millennial liberal Gabriel Boric is far from being some kind of leftist revolutionary

To try to compete with China, which is building high-quality infrastructure, the USA announced its plan to supposedly "help" Central America:

If you want to know why countries are partnering with China, it's not because of coercion; it's because Beijing doesn't meddle in their affairs and builds top-notch infrastructure, while the US forces them to impose neoliberal policies and sends in its corporation to exploit them
China: We will build world-class infrastructure in your country and won't impose conditions or meddle

USA: You need to cut wages, slash social spending, and privatize your resources, and we'll tell our corporations to "invest" (ie, exploit your people)

As a genocidal settler-colonial project, the US constantly expanded, stealing half of Mexico in 1848, colonizing Hawaii and making it a state in 1959.
The kind of separatist campaigns the US empire has constantly promoted abroad to balkanize countries -- like in Yugoslavia, the USSR and then Russian Federation (Chechnya), China (Tibet and Xinjiang), etc. -- will eventually come home.

An exit poll shows candidate Xiomara Castro of the leftist Libre Party winning the presidential election in Honduras today, with 11% more than the candidate of the right-wing National Party (the party of the US-backed coup regime)

There's still a lot left to count though, so now is time to be vigilant, because the US-backed coup regime stole the last 3 elections

Today Honduras has very important elections. Ever since a US-sponsored military coup in 2009, it has been run by a right-wing narco-dictatorship, which stole past elections.

She had 38% support, against 21% for right-wing candidate Nasry Asfura, of the corrupt National Party of US-backed narco-president JOH
