Anti-conversion bill is the brainchild of @RSSorg.

RSS followers had written a petition in 2009 to the law commission to draft anti-conversion bill when @BSYBJP was CM.

Our govt had rejected that draft bill. Now @BJP4Karnataka has given life to it.

The then Social Welfare minister H Anjaneya had written a note on the draft, which was forwarded by the law commission, that it is not needed to discuss in the cabinet.

It was never discussed during @INCKarnataka govt.

It is clear in the Constitution of India that any conversion through forceful means, for material benefits or through deceit is a punishable offence.

So what is the need for @BJP4Karnataka's new anti-conversion bill?

This is the reason for opposing the same

There are concerning differences between the previous draft and the current draft anti-conversion bill.

There was no usage of the word 'marriage' in clause 3 of the previous draft.

@BJP4Karnataka has added this word in the draft bill.

Lack of evidence will lead to acquittal of the accused as per IPC.

But clause 12 of the new draft bill will favour the complainant inspite of lack of evidence.

This is against the law of our land.

Art 21 & 25 of Indian Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and interfaith marriage.

Then how can @BJP4Karnataka govt decide against it?

For the same reason, Gujarat High Court has given a stay order for anti-conversion law that was enacted in Gujarat

The words & the phrases used in Karnataka draft anti-conversion bill is same as that of the bill passed in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

It is clear that RSS is behind this. @BJP4Karnataka has to come clean about those behind the bill.

.@BJP4Karnataka leaders are spreading false news about the population of Hindus declining and that of Muslims & Christians increasing.

The truth can be reviewed by seeing 2001 and 2011 census data.

Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda had said that instead of blaming the act of conversion, we have to identify the social inefficiencies that are leading to conversions.

Untouchability, caste structure and other social evils have to be addressed.

Anti-conversion bill tabled by @BJP4Karnataka is anti-constitutional, inhuman and curtails the freedom of citizens. I will always oppose this.

The govt should take back its decision.
