It has been a busy end to 2021 for #affordablehousing in #NewJersey. A few examples of recent developments:
In #Hanover, ground broke on the first phase of a project that will produce 140 homes for very-low-, low-, and moderate-income families (all 2- and 3-bedrooms) and 32 supportive homes for those with special needs. Read more here: jerseydigs.com/river-park-tow… Image
In #ColtsNeck, the Planning Board approved a project that will produce 72 homes for very-low-, low-, and moderate-income families. Read more here: centraljersey.com/2021/12/08/360… Image
In #Edgewater, the Planning Board approved a project that will produce 180 homes for very-low-, low-, and moderate-income families. Read more here: nj.com/bergen/2021/12… Image
In #WestWindsor, the Planning Board approved a project that will produce 149 affordable homes, at least 100 for families, with the remainder a mix of family, senior, and special needs affordable housing. Read more here: roi-nj.com/2021/12/20/rea… Image
In #Lumberton, a project recently opened that contains 70 homes for very-low-, low-, and moderate-income families. 650 applications were received for these homes within weeks of advertising. Read more here: njbiz.com/walters-commun… Image
These and many other affordable homes are being produced as a result of settlements @FairShareNJ reached with over 340 municipalities in #NewJersey these past five years, and should help working families have a safe, healthy place to live for years to come.
More is needed, however, to address the ongoing affordability crisis, and we are committed to continuing to work to ensure that every working family has a home they can afford. Thank you to all who have worked with @FairShareNJ to help make affordable housing real.
