In cruel acknowledgment cloth masks don’t work, @lapublichealth will be updating LA school guidance so that no one (for the next 2-4 wks), including students, should only wear a cloth mask. They will have to wear a N95, KN95, or a surgical mask (preferably w/ a cloth mask).
They also will be making adjustments to quarantines (possibly to align w/ CDC updates?), strongly recommend every kid test three days before school starts, and limiting who can be on campus, including parents from congregating on campus when picking up their kids.
One positive is there are no plans at this time for schools in LA county to temporarily close for in person instruction in January and do distance-learning. Caveat, though, is “at this time.”
