🚨 BOMBSHELL 🚨

Newly PRA’d emails show @WeAreCTA conducted opposition research on school reopening parent groups during the school shutdowns in CA.

Then after a principal was accidentally CC’d, the “damage control” was asking him to illegally delete the email.

1/🧵 The email was initiated by CTA researcher, Ann Swinburn, to an activist parent arm of the local union.

In the email Ann says, she is “currently doing some research into the various ‘reopen’ groups around the state.”

Principal for @mvwschools called police on a four-year old for not wearing a mask.

The officer was cordial and understanding, but the child could not stay. The child has missed school most of this week.

There is no state or county school mask mandate where this school resides. This same school allows maskless adults use its gym in the evening for recreational basketball, but is forcing kids as young as four to mask indoors all day.

HUGE NEWS: A judge ruled this morning that @LASchools’ student Covid vaccine mandate was illegal, blocking LAUSD from sending kids to independent study for not getting the Covid vaccine. Even though LAUSD delayed their mandate to align with the state timeline, they still intended on excluding kids from in-person instruction if they did not get the Covid vaccine.

Getting reports that after hundreds protested against school mask mandates yesterday, today, @OakdaleJUSD barricaded any student not properly wearing a mask in the gym and refused to turn on the heat. Police were called for a wellness check and police turned on the heat. Update: Confirmed staff attempted to barricade the maskless high schoolers in the gym by putting tables in front of the exits. A staff member also was caught turning down the thermostat to “freeze them out.” Here is one of the photos taken by a student.

In cruel acknowledgment cloth masks don’t work, @lapublichealth will be updating LA school guidance so that no one (for the next 2-4 wks), including students, should only wear a cloth mask. They will have to wear a N95, KN95, or a surgical mask (preferably w/ a cloth mask). They also will be making adjustments to quarantines (possibly to align w/ CDC updates?), strongly recommend every kid test three days before school starts, and limiting who can be on campus, including parents from congregating on campus when picking up their kids.

LAUSD neglectfully exposed PHI of 130+ students, potentially leading to $250,000 in fines. It’s been close to 48 hours and LAUSD hasn’t notified the families or acknowledged the exposure. 🧵

Early Mon morning, several unsuspecting parents received 130+ emails, each containing a kid’s name and that the kid was exempt from routine Covid testing because the kid recently recovered from Covid... except none of the 130+ emails were for the recipient’s kid.

BREAKING: PRA’d Synopsis Report from Sonoma County Sheriff’s office reveals otherwise healthy 15 year old died in June from heart issues due to second Covid vaccine two days prior.

Sonoma county has zero pediatric Covid deaths. Tragically, at least one vaccine related death. According to parents behind the PRA, there are no official juvenile deaths listing complications from the Covid vaccine as the cause of death in Sonoma County. Parents requested details of juvenile deaths where manner of death was "undetermined" and the report mentions Covid.

Remember when @CDCgov began recommending universal masking in schools regardless of vaccination status? Turns out they also removed all references to transitioning out of precautions as Covid reaches low levels, especially masking.
/1

Before: After: ImageImage CDC previously provided metrics when layers of mitigation could be rolled back, including that mask requirements could be removed when transmission is low or vaccination rates are high. That is now completing gone.

LAUSD’s insane Covid testing plan got me so riled up, I had to write about it. It’s going to be a disaster if they don’t reverse course.
zachcast.substack.com/p/lausds-pendi… I will add my sources to the thread for anyone who wants to look up the numbers themselves or to follow them as this train week proceeds.

#Breaking Photos posted to Instagram reveal Gavin Newsom’s 10 year old son w/ other kids maskless, indoors & not distancing at a basketball summer camp, even while spectating.

This is in clear violation of his own mask mandates. Why can his kid be maskless, but not ours?

1/
The photos were removed from the summer camp’s Instagram account once Newsom’s son was identified, but there is plenty of screenshots and video out there. We have some.

The Instagram post occurs as Newsom pushes for increased vaccine rates if we ever want to be rid of masks.

The governor keeps affirming that in-person education is not a given this Fall. This is not OK!

Will Capitol or education reporters press @GavinNewsom on this?

Just discovered a 2018 @CDCgov report regarding children and brain injuries & some @biaamerica statistics.

From this, I'm absolutely convinced WE MUST MANDATE ALL KIDS 3-17 WEAR HELMETS AT ALL TIMES (exceptions noted later).

First, the cold hard facts...

1/10 The Brain Injury Association reports that:

-Brain injury is the leading cause of disability & death for <18 in U.S.
-For <14, brain injury results in an estimated 2,685 deaths, 37,000 hospitalizations per year.

That's over 10X Covid deaths!

Newly released video of a @SanMarcosUSD HS teacher going off on students and their parents over distance learning and other issues. Originally posted to FB. Apparently this is a common occurrence. Attorney for @SanMarcosUSD argued Thurs in court the district was negotiating to expand in-person instruction. Instead, union & district agreed to not change, enforcing 6 ft spacing limiting in-person time. CDC & CDPH allow 3 ft. On Fri, union posts members celebrating at 0 ft.

BATTLE LINES HAVE BEEN DRAWN!

@UTLAnow announces they will be bargaining for hybrid for Fall 2021.

It appears they'll be negotiating for more money amongst other things. Be prepared for another standoff this summer with our kids as hostages. Also, @UTLAnow suddenly doesn't trust the CDC. "The CDC revised guidance of only needing 3 ft. of space was rash and based on a flawed study."

Let's be real, this standoff was never really about safety or science.

I’ve been inundated with reports of school districts spending state and federal Covid relief money on substantial one-time bonuses to teachers and administrators instead of spending them on getting kids back in classrooms or to curb learning loss.

This thread will document them. First, it’s fitting to start with what the @NEAToday pres. admitted Friday night.

In her words, the light at the end of the tunnel is... the 1.9T fed aid package giving 170B to schools.

You’d think this money would be spent on PPE, supplies, and programs for kids. Not quite...

There absolutely is a conflict of interest. The unknown is if Dr. Bardach’s husband’s company has or will benefit from the Safe Schools Team’s decisions. Action is needed to ensure there’s no abuse of power. sandiegouniontribune.com/news/education… After rumblings of the potential COI started, Minerva began scrubbing their website referencing high-school. How is that not an admission of a conflict interest?

French Laundry 2.0? @GavinNewsom caught at restaurant in Fresno with food on the table Friday. Fresno is in the purple tier which does not allow for indoor dining. Ironically, he was there announcing a $2B grant program for shuttered restaurants... while eating in one. 1/2 Probably the most hilarious part of this was that he unintentionally posted this picture himself. Congratulations BUSD (Brentwood, CA) for offering at least partial in-person instruction to families! Great leadership. It can be done.

You can hear this mom’s uncontrollable tears when the board voted 5-0 unexpectedly approving the new plan.

1/4 It’s worth noting the union led survey said only 30% of Brentwood, CA teachers wanted to come back, but the district survey one week later found a whopping 80% of teachers wanted to return!
