When you think of Borussia Dortmund, what comes to mind? One of the best clubs in the world that is universally respected and boasts a successful history of 8 league titles, 5 DFB-Pokals and 1 Champions League Trophy. They also hold what is calledโฆ
the โYellow Wallโ which is located on the southern terrace of their stadium with some of the most passionate group of fans in football. And most of all, their iconic yellow/black jerseys resemble that of a โbumblebeeโ squad.
In the 2012-13 season, a young Son Heung Min was playing in the Bundesliga for Hamburg. At that time, Dortmund was a formidable force that was on an incredible streak of being undefeated for 31 games.
In the 5th GW, Hamburg met Dortmund and it was none other than, Heung Min Son, who ended Dortmundโs undefeated record with 2 goals and a 3-2 victory.
Before moving to Tottenham in 2015, Son would go on to play for Leverkusen and would end up scoring 5 goals in 6 matches against
the Bumblebee Squad: Dortmund. On top of this, the goals were pure filth as well. Son was simply a Dortmund killer and this was what earned Son with the title, ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ.
Take a bow ๐โโ๏ธ
Sorry Dortmund fans, but that is ๐ฅ
Eventually, when Son moved to Spurs, it was thought this legend of a story would end, but it was only just beginningโฆ
At Spurs, it was thought that he wouldnโt meet BVB again. In his 1st szn, Son really struggled to adjust to the mighty Premier League.
It was a season to forget as he struggled to break into a Tottenham team that had just made numerous signings off the sale of Bale previously.
During his struggling debut season, hilariously, Tottenham met Dortmund in the round of 16. You know what happens nextโฆ
Son who struggled at Spurs and was out of form, did not disappoint his Beekeeper nickname,
and of course scored against his favorite, the Bumblebee Squad โ Borussia Dortmund.
For us Koreans, who lack a plethora of top class players playing in the top leagues, this story was both hilarious and amazing.
In the 17-18 szn, Spurs were also a stronger side and of course in the group draw, Sonny had met Real Madrid and Dortmund.
This guy, who had annoyed BVB fans while in Germany, had left for UK, and again, he kept coming back to them.
At this point, it was written in the stars.
For Spurs fans, that was the group of death. Everybody thought it was Real and Dortmund that would progress.
But for us Korean fans, we had this weird feeling, that okay, maybe Real is too tough, but Dortmund might be doable because of:
The Beekeeper.
Another hilarious poster leading up to the game had gone viral and it was literally Son as a beekeeper as an advertisement for the match. This time, Sonny was starting find some incredible form and was the start of his world class development.
He had a broken arm at the time when the match began vs the Bumblebees.
The match began and within the first 3 minutes, Son went on to score against Dortmund.
????????????????
At this point, it must be some kind of voodoo magic working for him against Dortmund. The best part was that he was named MOM and it was also his first goal since his return from injury.
Two months later, Son went onto to meet the YELLOW WALL once again at the scary Signal Iduna
Park. The game was cagey and was 1-1 till the 75th minuteโฆand it was the group stages of the Champions League.
In comes the Beekeeper with the winner (2-1).
Son was finally interviewed about this at the end of the game and he was asked why he does so well at Dortmund?
His answer: โI donโt know, I just like playing here.โ

..Furthermore, as many already know, Spurs tactics revolve around the Kane-Son combo. If the Jimenez-Hwang combo continues to fire, there is no way Lage would be willing to bench either of them.
โฝ๏ธโs are ๐
Could this be the Jota replacement that Wolves fans been waiting for?
Lage also made some promising comments:
โHe can give us these kind of things, and I want these kind of things in our teamโ
โI think he has adapted to the Premier League. He is fit and fits our way to play because we need a player like himโ
