OK here we go! Pl note that thread may be a bit technical, but I have tried to be as simple as I could. This is my own interpretation of the tech & where we are going with digital
Before we understand business of #tatacommunications, we have to understand some concepts without which we won't be able to appreciate the changes & improvements
#tatacommunications is mainly known for internet connectivity, colocation, enterprise data provider. But The co is transforming from these traditional services
Co is making strong presence in platforms & experience segment where they offer mobility & IoT communication platform.

Also, multi-cloud security as a service via NetFoundry, Collaboration services via UCaaS and much more!
#tatacommunications has repositioned itself in 5 service lines - Physical connectivity, Online enablement of platforms & solutions, Omni-Channel application delivery, Digital cloud Infra and AI/ML Big Data services
Traditionally, before COVID, organizations were not prepared to have a fully functioning virtual paradigm. The equipment, protocols, setup was all traditional & slowly going to cloud
COVID expedite this trend & the need to be immediately virtual ready become the key to business operations. This is where importance of reliable communication came into picture
Traditionally, companies have deployed WAN networks. And a WAN network always trusts all the requests generated within that WAN

With increasing adoption of virtual team, remote connectivity, handling security, right network deployment became even more important
WAN - Wide area network is traditional way of deploying a network for a given team within organization. Certain kinds of physical equipment are used & network has very limited remote collaboration possibilities
Hybrid WAN with VPN, on-demand network scalability became the next normal. Almost everyone works from MS Teams. Who do you think enables the MS teams deployment?
Collaboration services via traditional SIP Trucking was the way to go since companies had on-premise PBX so using SIP Trunking was logical since it was cost effective
PBX is a legacy way of network switching which uses legacy, on-premise infrastructure. World is going digital, these legacy deployments will soon be out dated
This legacy setup is not good enough for everyone to work remotely, collaborate efficiently, and yet connect seamlessly with enterprise systems since bandwidth need of enterprise systems is huge.
The WAN are getting obsolete & companies need cost effective, instant go live ready solutions to enable business continuity. That's what #TataCommunication is enabling.
The communication is manifold. Communication between people - collaboration platforms such as MS Teams.

Communication between people & systems or software.
Communication between systems & platforms - Cars, IOT systems etc.
Each layer has to work effectively with one another to ensure enterprise digital journeys are stable, sustainable, and remain profitable
There is a humongous amount of data getting generated due to this change. Security vulnerabilities popping up, anticipation of network scalability is extremely important
Remember, the value accrue on application layer in Web 2, and in this context, value accrue on service layer where applications, cloud, IoT platforms operate.
#tatacommunication has repositioned itself from the communication layer to digital service enablement layer.

They provide Uniform Communication as a Service which is a plug & play, go-live ready collaboration services suit that can virtualize your team within days!
It helps deploy deep security checks via zero trust implementation in a multi-cloud scenario. Be it the recent log4j issue or cross domain request origination.

From asset heavy to asset light is the transformation #tatacommunications is currently undergoing.
From legacy to digital, #tatacommunication offer services for everyone. But I anticipate traditional services rev to reduce consistently

WAN over the internet is not reliable & the connectivity experience is poor. You need much stable option - SDN comes into picture here.
Software Defined Network - Since more application are moving up to cloud, also platforms & services moving up to cloud, you also need a software to define a network for you automatically & also scale it up or down when needed
For an IOT platform, device data has much more importance than a metadata for e.g. In that case, you need a routing technique that tells your network to give priority to the device data over any other type data
For e.g. Vector data: speed, position, movement data is more important for a computer vision service provider than data related to weather, road condition, traffic etc. Your system needs to give imp to vector data over scalar data!
It is a new year & you are experiencing heavy traffic on your website/portal? You login to network dashboard & on a click of a button you scale up or down. That's SDN operating underneath that click.
Banks, ATM networks, retail outlets, distribution centers, Diagnostic labs etc. all need this kind of network enablement

Unless the network is digital, intelligent, understands priority of the data, you cannot have a stable application & IOT ecosystem.
The reliability, stability, security and ability to understand context is the basic expectation from any communications service provider.
Regardless you operate in on-prem, hybrid, single cloud, multi-cloud, you need an architecture that understands context of application consumption on each type & optimize itself
Let's come to UCaaS & CPaaS now. UCaaS is Unified Communication as a Service. CPaaS is Communication Platform as a service. What's the difference?
UCaaS offers ready to deploy communications & collaboration solution that any co can use & go virtual instantly. It is plug & play solution

#tatacommunication is a reseller of MS Teams & Webex services under UCaaS. The anticipated global UCaaS TAM by 2025 is $80bn
CPaaS is a communication as a Platform which is developer focused solution in which if your co has budget to invest in custom developments, you can use CPaaS to design custom solutions
Let's take an example of twitter spaces. It allows users to connect to a space through voice data. Multimedia data is not supported yet. Such feature is enabled via CPaas & not via UCaaS
Another example could be application development to conduct school classes. Instead of using ZOOM which uses UCaaS, a school choses to built its own platform
In this case, a student can video call, share screen with a teacher at will. CPaas APIs enable this infrastructure & not UCaaS

CPaaS anticipated global TAM by 2025 is $11bn. Both UCaaS & CPaaS have important in different layer of the business process
UCaas is important for enterprise for business continuity, while CPaaS is important for application developers & solution designers to consume APIs to build custom solutions
Although tata communication has both UCaaS & CPaaS, it is much dominant in UCaaS. For CPaaS we have many players such as Tanla, RouteMobile, Bharti etc.
For enterprise private cloud in industry cloud paradigm tata communication offers a service called IZO Industry specific solutions

Also, tata communication enables many PaaS - Platform as a Service provides in extending DevOps & Containerization services
It offers multi-cloud enablement through one ecosystem that also provides multi-cloud security for AWS, Azure, and more
You must have understood the imp of communication layer in digitally transforming enterprise & application ecosystem by now. Always connected cars, smart cities, smart healthcare, virtualization & remote working, business continuity - everything needs a rock solid communication
You need one ecosystem that takes care of your legacy, digital, IOT data proliferation, handles security, anticipates network usage, offers scalability, and enables companies to launch products, applications and platforms using such ecosystem.
MS Team is one product running on UCaaS, Twitter Spaces or WhatsApp video calling is a service running via CPaaS. Uber OTP, Live tracking, Device tracking, Geolocation etc. all needs this.
You cannot have a digital transformation that's not sustainable. And that's where I think #tatacommunication has positioned. Leadership team is rock solid. Ex-CEO of TCS Japan leads tata communications now!
Be it Tejas, Routemobile, Tata Communication, every company brings a very specific enablement on communication, 5G, digital, cloud, always connected paradigm.
I am not going into valuations, debt etc. since that is easily available in public. Do your own research as well before forming an opinion. This thread is my own interpretation of the businesses I own.

So we are going to discuss a young digital co promoted by big names. The price has rallied exponentially & valuations are through the roof. This is an attempt to discover where the value lies & what's worth.
I have tried to be as balanced, neutral with my analysis as I could. Positive & Negatives, wherever applicable are duly presented. It is up to you to take this view or not. And pl, rising price can't ever justify lagging fundamentals.
If you are keen to understand business, read on. Those who care about price can ignore this one. Here is to #happiestminds

I have been wanting to pen this down since a while. I think this is right moment. I achieved FI long ago but 2020/2021 played a crucial role in achieving that multiplier effect. I have surpassed my initial FI goal by 5fold already.
I don't own a home. I never took any loans, I don't have credit cards. Since my first job, I was focused on building passive income sources & I knew it is going to take time. I think finally I have reached a place where these sources can take care of my living very well.
I haven't been trading since some time as I focus more on professional side. I hold a concentrated PF, track few businesses, so i don't have many threads to write. I don't spend time knowing something abt everything. Rather, spend time to know everything about fewer things.

A thread of now tech is changing gears in banking & financial domain.

The banking is undergoing a tremendous change with the adoption of the technology. The business that's mainly run by legacy systems is now digitally transforming.
However, there is a catch. There are companies that offer digital transformation solutions to the legacy systems. Companies such as #IntellectDesign

Then there are digitally native banks such as #Kakaobank that's fully digital since inception.
In fact, #kakaobank was build based on "technology to process" approach. While traditional banks struggle with "process to technology".
