This was...not some natural disaster...but *choice*...
I wonder who they will be handing MBEs to for (not quite) "ensuring post-Brexit food supply to GB" express.co.uk/news/world/151โฆ
**Even now**, software suppliers are still in discussion with HMRC on what the customs system does and does not do, and are having to contend with a lot of conflicting information,โ the source said.
the issue is that government agencies have been unable to enforce the regulations and this is because they were put in a position where they had to either enforce the regulation or prioritise flow,โ the source continued.
another one of us bites the dust...
at a time when the brexit UK needs us more than ever.
Get yourself back in that customs free Single Market asap UK !!!
Best of luck @montydog58 ๐
"UK needs us more than ever" may sound a bit arrogant?
I was referring to the experience & expertise in shipping/customs/SPS matters needed now 'more than ever' ..
instead UK is going to be incredibly top heavy with
(a huge churn/turn over of) novices with non existent mentoring
On smart borders being a brexit "benefit" ..bollox.
For starters any system is only as good as the interfaced systems are, inc how much the other side of the border allows. It can never be as good as needing no system at all when in a customs "union"
& can never replace the needed physical regulatory checks..
only removed when being part of a single market of (SPS) standards under common legal oversight
Btw UK doesn't need tens of thousands (Gove stated "50,000" in HoC so clearly an understatement) customs "officers" (Border Force) ....but *agents* (private industry to make the customs entries to be cleared by BF). However UK does also need extra approx 5,000 of these "officers"
From a friend in the Freight Forwarding Industry who has authorised me to send this message as he has now just resigned !!!
Hi Michael. I don't know want this public for the moment. Let me think about it. What I have seen going in the EU has been a total car crash
60 80% sales down for many food exporters loads of freight companies just not getting involved.
I know a few companies setting up in Dublin particularly Asian foods rice etc and using it as a base.
I have also heard from good sources that food exporters are entering the EU via Belfast and dodging many checks.
I think the government will have to avoid SPS checks in GB long beyond July.
I can honestly say that importers are not 100% sure of the changes
.. anything being sent to the EU requires customs declarations forms to be attached. These are either CN22 or CN23 forms, depending on the value of the items. People sending from Northern Ireland do not need these forms. ๐
People still don't get any of it bbc.com/news/business-โฆ
But everybody knew what they were voting for ๐ฅด
From a friend "A lot of people both in UK & EU will be in shock over the ensuing parcel mess that will happen this Xmas. But did you note that they were "Sent to the place where one day she may retire"
Oh dear, I'm afraid that ship has sailed, another shock yet to come her way"
