Its subject line read, "The company must survive."
The next day, half the staff was fired – Including your truly.
All of this happened at the worst time possible.
At a time, I had a 6- month old kid.
But life has its own ways of surprising you:
Before I had my online business, I avoided taking risks.
I thought I was betting on myself by being a good employee.
So I tried to be the best employee.
Overdelivering. Promising impossible deadlines. Working late.
But I did so because I was afraid.
But I did so because I was afraid.
Afraid of pain.
Afraid of failure.
Afraid of judgment
I thought a salary would be enough for me.
But it turned out it wasn't.
Back then, I was drowning in debts.
I was battling stress and anxiety.
And the worst thing?
As you know, I got fired.
But what I didn't tell you is that this happened a month after being promoted to Marketing Director. My wife decided to quit her job immediately because I was given a juicy salary increase.
Lol...
Unfortunately, the decision to take on risks was made for me...
And I had no say in this decision.
So, I decided to bet on myself because I had nothing to lose anymore.
Thankfully, it paid off.
Not instantly.
But it did, eventually.
While I'm grateful that I could turn a bad situation into a positive one, I still
regret not starting my business sooner.
So, do me a favor, will ya?
Don't wait for the lowest point in your life to get started.
This 2022, bet on yourself.
And refuse to give up.
P.S: If you're willing to bet on yourself this year, reply "Let's go!" to make it happen.
