Curfews have the opposite effect of limiting the spread of an infectious disease. Instead they force people to crowd grocery stores and transit stations in the few hours of the day when they're not at work.
It's as if none of the people in charge knows a damn thing about traffic flow modeling.
Curfews and lockdowns create bottlenecks. Bottlenecks produce congestion and crowding. Crowding enhances the spread of infectious airborne diseases, effectively creating a super-spreader event in every crowd.

Individuals cannot be trusted to maintain social distancing in confined spaces. Not only is it difficult (if not impossible), it isn’t even based on science—and it isn’t enforceable. Large groups of people can however be reliably predicted to crowd during non-curfew (peak) hours.
