15 y.o. Kurt Ryan, a sophomore at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts known for his reddish-blonde afro, sense of humor, and love of video games, died from COVID on January 4, 2022. #SoulsLostToCovid gloucestertimes.com/news/covid-19-…
"One of the things that made Kurt stand out was his huge afro, his family said. They estimated Kurt had not cut his hair in six years."
"The family said he was not your average 15-year-old. They described him as wholesome, good and morally kind with the best laugh. People were reaching out to talk about his a good sense of humor and how funny he was."
"He was someone you would turn to to fix things, they said, and he could often be heard talking someone through an issue they had with a computer, phone or video game."
One of Kurt’s teachers reached out to share how the class was sharing memories of the teen on Wednesday, Dan Ryan said.

“They were all just reminiscing and laughing and crying about his memories,” his father said.

“Low skill workers” have academic skills, just not the support.
The GI Bill is a godsend. It gave me the time to learn how to learn. Many of my college classmates had college funds established.

People don’t want to work “low skill jobs” but when you’re living check to check you do what you have to do to survive.
In April 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Futures for Frontliners, inspired by the G.I. Bill making 625,000 essential workers in Michigan eligible for free college that served during the pandemic. freep.com/story/news/edu…
