.@BretBaier to Liz Cheney: Americans "also listened to a pitch for voting rights bills H.R. 1 & H.R. 4 are both bills you voted against. Democrats are linking those to make a sales pitch for passing those pieces of legislation based on the work of your committee and this day."
.@BretBaier: "When you hear Trump supporters point to that speech that he made on the Mall saying supporters should peacefully...march to the Capitol, what do you say?"

Cheney: "Look, I think you have to look at...the intent to which he was urging people to fight like hell."
.@BretBaier: "It sounds like, Congresswoman, that the goal of the committee, perhaps, is to go after Trump's inner circle & prevent the former President from running...again. Is that a fair assessment[?]"

Cheney says it's to "prevent an attack...from ever happening again."
Excellent question to Liz Cheney from @BretBaier: "What about the security failure here...Chairman Thompson has announced...there is no call for those documents for the House Sergeant of Arms? Why is that if it's designed to prevent something like this from happening again?"
Liz Cheney claims the January 6 Committee is "very focused on" the security failures at the U.S. Capitol, but then chides @BretBaier and people asking these questions b/c it's like blaming "small business owners" for "Antifa and BLM rioters" burning down their businesses
.@BretBaier to Cheney: "What do you say to somebody...who may say, 'listen, I think that day was horrible...but I'm worried about getting my kids to school...I'm worried about the next economic blip...& they look at the focus on 1/6 & say, 'why is" this "get[ting] pushed off[?]'"
Liz Cheney: "I absolutely share those concerns...I'm a conservative Republican. I believe that the policies of the Biden administration are bad for this country, but...if we want to...advocate conservative policies again, we have got to tell the truth about January 6."
Those are a few of the notable exchanges. He also asked about what she made of the speeches from President Biden and Vice President Harris, the comparisons between 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, her standing with the Wyoming GOP, and who has what title on the committee. (8/8)

The problem is most if not all of the people pushing this are too busy dehumanizing anyone who didn't vote straight Democrat as people not even worth being friends with and enemies of the state.

When you make this your 2022 message like CNN does, they'll continue to lose viewers
You're either with Adam Schiff or you're roughly an enemy of the state. That's how the January 6-obsessed media operate.
I'll even add a good number of them probably know this demonization of simply being a non-Democrat or actual Republican is wrong. But when you have a bubble to preach to, you do it.

Not sure how many have picked this up yet, but the dirty little secret on the Jan Crawford clip from CBS's Face the Nation yesterday -- it DIDN'T even air during the show.

FTN has done a segment for at least a year or two about undercovered stories, but didn't make the air.
We at NewsBusters have the full, hour-long show recorded, but you can also watch it online or read the transcript here (as published by CBS) cbsnews.com/news/full-tran…
Here's the full transcript of the panel discussion when Jan Crawford made her comments about school closures and the scourge of mental health.

Manchin, Harris, abortion, and 2022 predictions were what CBS *did* decide to show viewers cbsnews.com/news/full-tran…

It doesn't matter what the GOP does with voter ID or whatever's the election topic of the day if blue states are redistricting them out of existence. Inflation could be sky high, gas prices up, and America floundering, but--again--it might not mean much.

I'm not saying bills like those in Georgia and Texas are bad or aren't important -- they're INCREDIBLY important and common sense.

It's a "both/and" issue. And I think some on the right are missing the second part.
Sure, move to Texas and elsewhere, but California, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, etc. still aren't losing population to the degree in which the other gains would catch up. IL going to 3 red states, possibly zero in MD, and only 5 safe seats in CA could be perilous.

Pieces like this in The New York Times are why it's not hyperbole to say too many in our media and ruling class have nothing but hate for Americans ego don't think and live like they do.

It's why people call them -- fair or not -- enemies of the people. nyti.ms/3my0j6r
Here's a few examples. People who don't want to go one way are painted as misinformed, scared of racial diversity, etc. ImageImageImageImage

DOOCY TIME: "So why is the President saying about this new variant, 'nobody saw it coming, nobody in the world' if that's not true."

Psaki: "Well first, I would say that nobody saw -- knew that there would be the number of different variants."
Doocy: "About the testing & the contingencies, why is it that you guys are proposing 500 million tests next month if you haven't even signed a contract to buy [them]?"

Psaki: "Well, we have no concern about the contract being finalized. We're just working to finalize [them]."
Doocy: "If it's so easy to get the tests, why don't people have them now? Who here decided...Americans were going to want to have access to these tests in January as opposed to now before they go home for Christmas?"

Psaki argues they've "quadrupl[ed]" testing "since the summer"

Some personal news -- after what came out to over 1,200 night shifts (minus vacation days), I'm moving to the morning shift for @NewsBusters. Starting tomorrow, I'll covering everything from the night before plus the looniness on CNN, MSNBC and whatever else happens in the AM.
I started the night shift in September 2014, working four nights a week (and the occasional fifth here and there) before going to what was loosely three nights a week in April 2016. Through it all, I really came to enjoy it (though it can wreak havoc on your personal life).
Only three months into @NewsBusters (after the previous summer at @CNSNews), @KenShepherd and I were the team working on the networks, Chris Matthews, and whatever else came up.

For a kid fresh out of college with few D.C. connections, I was blessed to have my foot in the door.
