The way to make life changing gains in $FTM isn't by directly investing in Fantom itself, but by taking advantage of the massive opportunities in its DeFi ecosystem.

🧵: A thread covering some of my favourite projects on $FTM, and why they could net you insane profits in 2022 👇

2/ If you have the belief that $FTM can 5-10x+ this year, where do you think those gains will derive from? I'll tell you: The DeFi projects that comprise Fantom's flourishing ecosystem.

If $FTM 10xs, some of these projects can 25x or 50x. Higher upside, higher downside.

3/ It's essential to weigh up the risk/reward of each project, and adjust your % allocation based on risk tolerance.

But, what if we can combine these insane multiples with passive income streams through yield farming? 🤔

An overview of a few of my favourite ecosystem plays:

4/ @LiquidDriver

What @Dr_Liquid_ and the team have been able to accomplish here is amazing.

They're essentially offering $LQDR holders a 110%+ APR, paid out in $LQDR $FTM $BOO $SPELL and $SPIRIT.

All that whilst holders benefit from token appreciation.

5/ The value of $LQDR tokens increases as more tokens are locked up via staking, thus reducing supply whilst increasing rewards (generating increased demand for the token).

This has resulted in a 10x over the last month. And I don't see things slowing down any time soon.. 🚀

6/ If you hold $LQDR tokens, you can:

1. Lockup xLQDR (110%)
2. Swap all rewards for linSPIRIT/SPIRIT
3. Compound LP in lin/SPIRIT pool for an additional 130% APY.

Or, take your rewards and reinvest however you want! There's hundreds of strategies you can tailor to your goals.

7/ If you're NOT a $LQDR holder, don't fear! Because you can yield farm on @LiquidDriver to earn $LQDR tokens. For example:

1: Deposit MIM/FTM for 152% APR (one example)
2. Earn $LQDR
3. Lock $xLQDR and earn a further 110%
4. Reinvest rewards back into the LP to earn more $LQDR

8/ As you can see, the power of this protocol is immense, as you're not only benefiting from $LQDR token price appreciation, but compounding your rewards to generate insane returns.

Imagine if $LQDR does a 20x whilst you're earning an additional 200% APY on those tokens.. 😯

9/ Here's how $SPIRIT factors into all this:

LQDR is rapidly accumulating inSPIRIT to boost their own pool.

The guage mechanism on $SPIRIT is so powerful, as its creating a similar dynamic to what we saw with $CRV and $CVX.

10/ With @LiquidDriver locking up $SPIRIT as inSPIRIT, this is reducing the circulating supply of $SPIRIT. All the while, stakers are simultaneously locking up linSPIRIT on Liquid Driver.

This puts extreme supply side pressure on the $SPIRIT token. Bullish for both tokens.

11/ $SPIRIT Wars and $LQDR aside, here are some other reasons I'm bullish on @Spirit_Swap:

1. Amazing team (30+ members, doxxed).
2. UI 2.0 and performance upgrades coming soon (should rival Spooky to challenge as $FTM's premier DEX).
3. Great tokenomics via inSPIRIT mechanism.

12/ That's why $LQDR and $SPIRIT are my 2 biggest $FTM plays outside of Fantom itself.

But I'll list a few other projects I like as well:

13/ It wouldn't be a $FTM thread without mentioning @tombfinance

1. Create a FTM-TOMB LP on Spooky
2. Stake FTM-TOMB on @tombfinance cemetery for 140%.
3. Stake $TSHARE rewards in the masonry for 500%.
4. Redeposit $TOMB rewards back into LP
5. Infinite money glitch unlocked ✅

14/ If you're bullish on $TOMB (as I still am), then a $TSHARE investment makes sense.

@harryyeh stated that 1 $TSHARE will = 1 $YFI (soon). This is a 2.28x from current prices, whilst you get to earn a monster 500%+ APR via staking (When $TOMB is back above peg).

15/ I really like @beethoven_x as well. They're the cheapest DEX on $FTM and offer unique multi-token pools.

They're a fork of @BalancerLabs, and are backed by the $BAL treasury.

Retail users prioritise a cheap, fast, DEX experience, and $BEETS offers this in spades.

16/ The coolest thing about the $FTM ecosystem is how all these projects are working together.

The $SPIRIT and $LQDR affiliations are obvious, but I know there's multiple big partnerships in the works which can be beneficial for multiple projects across the Fantom ecosystem. 👀

Remember, although these DeFi protocols offer huge potential for outsized gains vs $FTM itself, they also carry more risk.

So depending on your portfolio and goals, you must size that risk optimally. I still personally hold ~50% $FTM long term. This thread isn't FA of course.
