• From 2002-2007 he was chief of the Danish Police Intelligence Service.

• From 2007-2015 he was secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence.

• Lars attended a Bilderberg meeting for the first time in 2019.

In August 2020, Findsen was suspended and subsequently arrested after the Danish Intelligence Supervision Commission had charged him and 3 others, including his predecessor Thomas Ahrenkiel, with spying and withholding/lying about crucial information of criminal activities.
