All of the wins that the 1/6 committee has achieved thus far – from uncovering key evidence to landing major cooperating witnesses and so on – has been a result of smart savvy STRATEGY, not the foot stomping “aggression” and “urgency” that the pundits on here keep calling for.

There will certainly be a theatrical aspect to the upcoming 1/6 public hearings. But this is still about winning, which means crafting the messaging for viewers in the middle, not based on what makes YOUR socks roll up and down. If you want a reality show, watch the Kardashians.

If the committee publicly takes the position that Trump is guilty and belongs in a cage before it even rolls out its witnesses and evidence, average viewers will just say “well this is partisan” and tune it all out. Which would mean the hearings would be for nothing.

Also keep in mind that if the 1/6 committee really starts to rack up wins, the doomsday pundits will try to counter that by insisting even more loudly that the committee has failed. Because their entire reason to exist is to portray themselves as smarter than the committee.

No amount of “urgency” or “aggression” will cause the likes of Trump and Jordan to instantly fall through some trap door. This remains true no matter how hyperbolically the doomsday pundits insist the committee could be using a magic trap door if it really cared about democracy.

There are two wins the 1/6 committee can achieve:

1) convince majority of Americans that Trump etc belong in prison, so DOJ will go there

2) convince majority of Americans that GOP must be held accountable in midterms.

Those both require a MAJORITY, not pandering to the base.

But the doomsday pundits will keep insisting the committee could be instantly accomplishing limitless wins by magic wand if it really wanted to. This kind of punditry is dishonest and destructive, but it lets these pundits paint themselves as patriotic geniuses.

Keep in mind that the 1/6 committee HAS TO FAIL in order for the doomsday pundits to be able to paint themselves as smarter and savvier than the committee. These types of pundits are, consciously or subconsciously, ROOTING for the 1/6 committee to fail. It’s their business model.

The doomsday pundits will continue sabotaging the 1/6 committee until YOU call them out for their antics, such as 1) offering nothing constructive, 2) being proven wrong on every single prediction, and 3) dishonestly criticizing the committee at every turn. It’s all they do.
