WH's Jen Psaki reiterates recent State messaging: Iran neg'ns ongoing, but we are at the point where we are now of increased Iran nuclear capability & capacity & aggressive actions would not be happening if former president had not recklessly pulled out of nuclear deal
...with no thought as to what come next. Iran nuclear program no longer in a box. No longer most robust inspections regime ever negotiated. Now where we are at, even as neg'ns ongoing,...they have come back to table. But because of last admin pulling out of Iran nuclear deal,
Iran nuclear program has been rapidly accelerating. US was totally isolated internationally..What we have been working to do is rebuild those relationships; Get back to table [to get Iran program back in box and increase transparency]...
Psaki: Negotiations are ongoing. And we are eager to see the diplomatic path move forward
Psaki: "The fact that the former president ripped up the nuclear deal, meant that Iran' nuclear program was no longer in a box and no longer had the most robust inspections regime ever negotiated. No longer had the tight restrictions on nuclear activity....
