Let’s look into what the high achievers say about the power of reading a book.
Young people today don’t read books. I don’t think any of them are widely read in Russian literature. Unless you have a rich reserve within yourself you can’t create anything. That’s why I often say creating comes from memory. Memory is the source of your creation...”
- Kurosawa
If you read enough, there’s a similarity between things that make it easy, because this thing is like this other thing,” Gates said. “If you have a broad framework, then you have a place to put everything.”
There are a lot of books available on @NuriaStore shelves through which you can start your reading journey, but in this thread, I just going to pick the books I personally read as a beginner.
RICH DAD POOR DAD
This book contains knowledge about financial literacy, the author has spoken about the difference between an asset and a liability, he has spoken about how we can minimize the taxes that are levied on ourselves
This is the second book I would suggest. If you read this book and try to apply some points which have been discussed in this book then probably you would become a great communicator.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondō
Tokyo's newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home - and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.
As we enter adulthood, the liabilities of our wrong decisions are gradually transferred from other people (parents, family, teachers) to ourselves.
We deal with the consequences of our actions. No one else carries the weight, but we alone.
That’s what adulting is
When we were kids, if we screwed up our finances and spent too much, our parents would be there to back us up. If we failed, our teachers would help us find a way to pass the exam. Parents would scold us, but they’d also help us find a solution - enrol us in tuition, for example.
But as we became adults, like babies that were weaned off breastmilk, we were taught, often the hard way, that we had to solve our own shit.
If we made a wrong investment decision, no one would pay off the debt. If we screwed up our relationship, friends wldn’t be able to save it
The first and the foremost thing which you should do are to select a Genre. Which genre books do you like to read? Whether you like motivational, sci-fi,adventure, fiction, non-fiction, romance, or whatever it is. Afterward, search for the books on that particular Genre
2. Author
It’s possible that you like some particular author’s writing style and want to read more books like that. Then go for it and check the books published under that author’s name. Take out a book based on your interest and genre.
Covey believes that the way we see things in the world is entirely based on our own perceptions and beliefs. So In order to change something we must change our selves and even the way we see things.
The book teaches us the importance of building constructive habits, and provides a clear cut framework on how to remove areas of inefficiency and resistance from your own life.
