1/6) As he was returning from visiting relatives early Wednesday morning, Israeli soldiers pulled Omar Abdalmajeed As'ad out of his car, blindfolded and assaulted him, and then left him to die.
2/6) Hours later, two Palestinian young men found As’ad’s body with his wrists still zip-tied.
As’ad was born in Palestine in 1941. After leaving Palestine, he lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his children and grandchildren until he was able to return to Palestine in 2012.

3/6) Instead of living out the final chapter of his life at peace in his homeland, he lived under illegal Israeli occupation before he was assaulted and left to die by Israeli soldiers.
4/6) As’ad is not the only elderly Palestinian victim of Israeli violence this week. Haj Suleiman al-Hathaleen is currently clinging to his life after an Israeli police tow truck ran him over, dragging him for over 10 meters, before driving on.

6/6)The U.S. government funds Israel’s routine violence against Palestinians like As’ad and al-Hathaleen with billions of dollars from American taxpayers while refusing to implement any conditions on this funding that would force Israel to comply with international law.
