Cytomegalovirus is a common virus. It can be serious if a woman catches it during pregnancy as she may pass the virus on to her baby.

My son has CMV, if it had been screened for, early treatment could've reduce complications.

2/ A randomised control trial demonstrated a 71% reduction in the risk of foetal transmission when a high dose of Valaciclovir was given to women who seroconvert #CMV, (pass to foetus), in pregnancy.

1st Trimester Screening is a no brainer.
3/ The Valgan Toddler Study, a randomised control trial, showed no efficacy of late treatment where there is hearing loss caused by CMV, so the only opportunity to preserve hearing is by treatment in the new-born period.

Neonatal CMV Screening could prevent children going deaf.
4/ CMV is responsible for children developing learning difficulties. However, as it's less known than; eg Autism etc, professionals are much slower to help, if at all.

Many people aren't aware of the effects. Eg: My son has to avoid pregnant women as he could infect them.
5/ Why wouldn't you introduce screening for CMV in pregnancy and newborn? Early identification can prevent severe learning difficulties, blindness and deafness.

I urge @DHSCgovuk, @P_H_S_Official, @scotgovhealth, @PublicHealthW to introduce CMV screening as STANDARD.
Did you know CMV is the leading cause of birth defects in the UK?

We need to raise awareness so all #pregnant women know about the dangers of #CMV #CMVAwareness.

We need to call for CMV screening in early pregnancy and at birth.

25% of child hearing loss is due to CMV. Image

Novak Djokovic's legal team are arguing that he should be allowed remain out of custody pending appeal.

I'm sure those in detention would like the same.
Djokovic's legal team are keen to prevent the case being transferred to the Federal Superior Court as it would take too long and affect him playing in the #AusOpen.
Djokovic's legal team plan to challenge his deportation on:

• He isn't a medical risk to the public health wise & he is in good standing.
• Removing him could harm public order more than allowing him to stay.
• There's no evidence of antivax supporters citing him in the media

Deputy Editor of race baiting newspaper trying to divert attention from the huge L in court.

Also, I'd rather the media just named Prince William as the person in question, instead of pussy footing about it, like they did his affair with the Rose lassie.
PS. Injunctions from the High Court in London are worthless in Scotland, my residence and no amount of legal pressure is going to erase the fact Prince William had an affair with Rose Hanbury.

Enjoy your evening.
Multiple UK news outlets have had evidence of the affair and his other comments, some even spoke of them on this site before legal threats saw them delete.

A Royal shouldn't be afforded extra protection from scrutiny than any other public figure.

12.5k followers and they think this is acceptable. Come get your guys @LCFC @LCFC_Community

It's worse when the UK has a homeless crisis and people are freezing on the street.

Oh, and Foodbank use is off the charts, so the feeding comment is grim.

#LIVLEI #CarabaoCup
.@lcfcawaydays_ is definitely not doing #LCFC fans any favours.

When pointed out mocking poverty and Foodbank users is bad, this is their response...

Strange thing is Leicester's rate of child poverty is much higher than Liverpool. Hopefully they reflect and help a Foodbank. Image
.@lcfcawaydays_ should understand that since 2010, working class people from all clubs have suffered.

Leicester's Foodbanks are as busy as anywhere else. Child Poverty is higher there, than most places in the UK. I don't think that's funny, rather I'd like to do some good so. 👇

If the NHS is overwhelmed because it cannot cope with an increase in people with COVID-19 and it's related complications, we risk this Tory government using that an as excuse for privatisation.

Vaccination reduces the chances of serious infection and/or complications.
Yes people who are vaccinated will still catch Covid-19, the government hasn't been clear on this. However, those who are vaccinated are much less likely to require hospitalisation.

Obviously some will, but more won't.

If we want an NHS, we need to help it.
The fact we have 90,000 positive cases, but not the equivalent hospitalisations compared to lower positive rates pre vaccination, shows we are getting there.

We can beat this, we can get through it, but we need to work together to do do.
