Me : Old Labour (i.e. socialism) are close in ideology to One Nation (which btw this current lot aren't). To be blunt, I'd like to see a new party with integrity and pragmatic policies with social caring at its heart and the market as a tool.

Me : If you take the time to read their policies then I think they'd gather an awful lot of support. Of course, such an action would come into conflict with one of their main goals ... so it's a nice but pointless hypothetical.

Me : I didn't agree with the changes in leadership elections and I don't want to be part of that. However, I can easily vote for Starmer. I might have wanted Bernie Sanders but Biden is better than the alternative.

Me : I wouldn't worry, I expect to hear some big corporate / wealthy sponsors. Hence my "Biden" comment ... the Democrats have their corporate wing that run the show with the progressives rolled out for elections. It works for them.
