The average age of mothers in England and Wales in 2020 remained at 30.7 years.

In 2020, the stillbirth rate was 3.8 per 1,000 births – a record low, and in line with previous decreasing trends.

The highest stillbirth rates were seen in

The UK population is projected to increase by 3.2% in the first 10 years of our latest projections, from an estimated 67.1 million in mid-2020 to 69.2 million in mid-2030.

These projections are based on the most recent mid-year population estimates covering the period up to 30 June 2020.

Therefore, they only include some of the impacts on the UK population from the early part of the #COVID19 pandemic.

6.9% of all deaths registered in the week ending 31 December mentioned #COVID19 on the death certificate in England and Wales (582 deaths).

This was a decrease in the number of deaths from the previous week (852 deaths, 6.5% of all deaths).
In England, 557 deaths involving #COVID19 were registered in the week ending 31 Dec (compared with 797 deaths registered the previous week).

In Wales, 24 deaths involving COVID-19 were registered in this week (compared with the 49 deaths registered the previous week).
