Honestly speaking - I hardly have any respect for Farmers from Punjab and Haryana.
They have destroyed the eco-sytem to fill their pockets. No respect.

Farming unwanted crop with government's money (subsidy) which is sold to government again is no heroic task.
Making a canal & disturbing the crop pattern to 'fat' your profit margins is sin.

I was surprised to know that few farmers keep a 'separate farm' for growing produce for families consumption. They don't use fertilizers & chemicals in this separate farm.
They use chemicals for remaining of the farm land. This crop is sold.

This means that the "farmer" is delibrately making other people eat what he won't let his family eat.
He is doing it to 'increase' his profit.
