CBS's Stephen Colbert proposes the Senate be eliminated if the filibuster can't be axed b/c "[i]t is the most anti-Democratic institution next to the judiciary b/c [it's]...the way it is b/c the Senate is the way it is...I cannot understand what...positive purpose [it] provides"
Colbert doubling down a few moments later: "It's an anti-democratic institution. That’s just it. 41 million Americans are represented — more are by — by your side than the Republicans and, yet, they could get one more vote."
*"I don’t understand what possible, positive purpose the United States Senate provides right now."

.@LeaderMcConnell: Biden "delivered a deliberately divisive speech that was designed to pull our country further apart...He compared...a bipartisan majority of senators to literal traitors. How profoundly, profoundly unpresidential...I did not recognize the man at the podium[.]"
.@LeaderMcConnell: "[V]oters did not give President Biden a mandate for very much...bridge a divided country, lower the temperature, dial down the perpetual ere of crisis...Biden has chosen to fail his own test. [His] rant...was incoherent, incorrect, & beneath his office"
McConnell: "He used the phrase Jim Crow 2.0 to demigod a law that makes the franchise more accessible in his own state...Ironically...the D.C. Mayor said bring a photo ID & vaccine card anytime they leave the house...World saw [him] propagandize against his own country."

Ah, yes. Here we go with the liberal media celebrating and trying to normalize pedophilia.

That's right, folks. @USAToday, trying to destigmatize...grown adults having sex with little kids
You see, according to USA Today and at least some on the left, it's actually something you're just "born with" and thus you can't help but want to have sex with kindergartners.
Truly demonic. Here's USA Today arguing that pedophilia shouldn't be seen as something that's a scarlet letter, especially if you're attracted to little kids but you *haven't* acted on your impulses.

.@RandPaul to Fauci: "[T]he idea that a government official like yourself would claim unilaterally to represent science and that any criticism of you would be considered a criticism of science itself is quite dangerous...It is cheap politics & it is reprehensible."
Asked by @RandPaul if "it's appropriate to use your $420,000 salary to attack scientists that disagree with you," Dr. Fauci FREAKS OUT: "[I]n usual fashion, senator, you are distorting everything about me....There you go again. You do the same thing every hearing."
FIREWORKS: @RandPaul asks Dr. Fauci if he thinks it's a "conspiracy theory" to wonder if COVID-19 came from a lab, but Fauci says Paul's "distorting the truth" & "virtually everything" about him.

.@PhilipWegmann to Psaki: "Not long ago in this room, the surgeon general told us that Covid misinformation was a public health threat. I'm wondering if the White House is at all concerned given Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor's remarks about the omicron variant..."
.@PhilipWegmann: "Are you worried that there's misinformation that is being spread so much so that even a sitting Supreme Court justice has an inaccurate picture of things?"

Psaki: "Again, I'm just not going to weigh in on a specific legal argument made in the Court."
.@PhilipWegmann: "Can we expect that the President will be more aggressive and use the bully pulpit to tell teachers unions in Chicago to get back in the classroom?"

Psaki claims Biden "has been very clear...we are on the side of schools being open."

DOOCY TIME: "I heard the President say, 'Google Covid tests near me.' So, somebody isolating with Covid, I did that, and the appointments everywhere were completely jammed. So, why is it you guys were so unprepared for the need for testing after the holidays?"
Doocy: "[T]ests…require people to go somewhere & either make an appointment or wait in line....You guys said you were going to mail free tests to people that need them. [Biden's] talking about a winter of severe illness & death…Why weren’t you guys not doing more to prepare[?]"
Doocy: At the rate you guys are going, these tests are not going to be available until spring, so will you admit that these free tests you guys promised are not going to be ready until after the omicron surge?

Psaki: I think I gave an update...We'll have tests..in the coming wks

.@BretBaier to Liz Cheney: Americans "also listened to a pitch for voting rights bills H.R. 1 & H.R. 4 are both bills you voted against. Democrats are linking those to make a sales pitch for passing those pieces of legislation based on the work of your committee and this day."
.@BretBaier: "When you hear Trump supporters point to that speech that he made on the Mall saying supporters should peacefully...march to the Capitol, what do you say?"

Cheney: "Look, I think you have to look at...the intent to which he was urging people to fight like hell."
.@BretBaier: "It sounds like, Congresswoman, that the goal of the committee, perhaps, is to go after Trump's inner circle & prevent the former President from running...again. Is that a fair assessment[?]"

Cheney says it's to "prevent an attack...from ever happening again."
