On 17/09/2020, Somalia’s leaders agreed on indirect elections. FMS were given responsibility to oversee elections committees (SEIT) in their respective regions. Oversight for #Somaliland & Benadir was placed in the hands of the Prime Minister due to the absence of SL admin. (2/5)
From 27/05/2021 through to 09/01/2021 – Oversight on #Somaliland elections were delegated to the deputy PM & head of Upper House Mr Hashi following a gentlemen’s agreement aimed at appeasing their claims of being the rightful representatives of SL. (3/5) 
To the disappointment of PM Roble, both the deputy PM Mr Mahdi & Mr Hashi repeatedly bumped heads throughout the staggered process as they fought to secure seats for themselves & their peers in the upcoming parliament. Prime Minister Roble was forced to intervene repeatedly.(4/5)
A final ultimatum was given to Mr Mahdi & Mr Hashi to support the SL election committee & conclude by 25/12/2021. Since 09/01/2022 PM Roble has instructed the election committees to move full steam ahead and sideline any spoilers including Mr Hashi. @threadreaderapp unroll.
