1/25 tl;dr "show me your friends, i'll tell you who you are." -my dad.

put differently:

the people you interact with day-to-day will shape your knowledge and behaviors over time.

this is a story about a group of friends who learned nft together as a Mastermind Group, not a DAO

2/25 in dec 2017 i minted my first cryptokitty but it wasn't until feb 2018 that i discovered the ck community on discord. prior to that, i was pretty lost. @CryptoKitties was a complex breeding game where you combined 2 #nfts to create a new one, based on the underlying genetics

3/25 ck discord was a very active server at the time - as/more active than the most popular servers today, and there was a wealth of information throughout the channels. after hanging out for a few weeks, you start to recognize a few folks and identify people who really get it

4/25 and because of the noise of these servers, it is somewhat natural to eventually create new discord servers with a smaller set of folks who you are in DMs and DM groups with discussing specifics, in our case, breeding cats. and from there, we started our journey together.

5/25 skipping over some of the details on how we eventually ended up as a group of 19, hard-capped, never admitting new members, that's what we are - 19 people who started their nft journey at the same time, and have grown together, but individually in the space.

6/25 years ago we were just a rag-tag group of nerds who likes mashing cats together to make nfts. but as you will see, by sharing the journey together, we have helped each other learn, build, collect and grow, and find our own success. i wouldn't be here today without this crew!

7/25 @pranksy asked to be first, of course. and he deserves it - i watched this dude flip gen0 cats on valentines day 2018 into a bot who was paying too much. pranksy the collector was born that day. i've learned to be unemotional with trades and how to make big plays from them

8/25 @NateAlexNFT is the only solidity dev in our group. he co-founded @nft42 with me and is now off building secret projects on his own but before that he helped pioneer a lot of the onchain mechanics we see in nfts today, including onchain things, arweave for nfts & royalties

9/25 @poopie worked at dapper labs for a couple years on cryptokitties before creating the legendary @doodles with is co-founders. his vision for doodles and ability to execute on it has been inspiring to watch. poopie is a data-driven thinker and i've learned less-gut, more data

10/25 @NiftyReport is a legendary whale from 2018. he is a shrewd trader. he taught me to go into a position with a plan, and to stick to it. his presence in the group is an x-factor. ask him about his past groups with other founders on the edge of blockchain innovation.

11/25 @Carlini8N is a true degenerate. founded @PurrnelopesCC. he is an amazing dude who i can't wait to have beers with irl, so i can steal his cryptos. many lessons from this legend, but top of the list is every dm message is a scam. always be a cynic. has served me well.

12/25 @Werekitty1 our only "known" female. she keeps us honest. not someone you want to be on the other side of a debate with unless you're prepared to battle! but thats how her and i learn together. she has a deep understanding of nfts and is the product manager for @AvaStarsNFT

13/25 @AlleyCatNFT may or may not be female. we know, but you don't. they are a developer as well, but they don't write smart contracts. however, they are our first line of defense against any hacks, should issues arise. AC has a toolkit that can help in very specific situations.

14/25 @kaigani is a founder at @blockblockio and an advisor at @nft42_ he was a huge help in shaping @AvaStarsNFT and making me take the project seriously when i was initially rushing to demonstrate #onchain without regard for the art itself. design and intent matter. thanks kai.

15/25 @Alanfalcon and i have argued and agreed on so many things i don't even know where to start. he is a big part of @nbatopshot but prior to that he was a big part of cryptokitties - he helps remind me of the child-like nature of all of this with his infectious spirit.

16/25 @AndrewSteinwold is one of the quieter members of our group, but when he comes to chat, we listen. unlike the others in the group, he came from the @cryptovoxels project, another early project in the space. his knowledge in this space is known by all. share more alpha, sir!

17/25 @Evilvoxels is an amazing artist and collector. because of him i have @XCOPYART, @Hackatao and @JohnOrionYoung in my collection. he curated the traits on the 100 @AvaStarsNFT founders, and built our original campus in @cryptovoxels. A metaverse builder you should hire.

18/25 @NftNoob is an inspiration to us all - his accomplishments in real life dwarf all of ours in the group. In nftland, he was the first to breed a "7 Gem Kitty" and has been known to shill it any chance he gets. This guy knows numbers and we turn to him when we need maths.

19/25 @alxocity is actually another solidity dev, i was wrong about @NateAlexNFT being the only one. alxo could turn up any moment to school all of us on how to make the best nft projects ever, but he is too busy buying every. single. nba topshot card he can. actual legend.

20/25 @BlueMooon has like 50 Glyphs from @larvalabs and 8 cryptokitty founders. and probably the same number of @AvaStarsNFT founders. This dude buys good assets and HODLs. period. taught me to HODL.

21/25 @BitcoinLouie was the original discord mod i learned from and is an amazing poker player and trader. he also knows a thing or two about running @FlowBlockchain nodes. learned a lot about community from this guy.

22/25 @Arazi61808737 is a collector with a wallet that always mints the most legendary nfts. godlike rng. he is actually a good dude who has also taught his son nfts at the same time and they have both created better lives for themselves. good people win sometimes. that's tweety.

23/25 an undoxxed (on twitter) founder of @NFTfi who has helped build the decentralized pawn shop for the nft space. amazing insight into the giant but yet to emerge lending market around high value nfts. disclosure - i'm an investor in NFTfi.

24/25 @Altcoinceo who is also like @BlueMooon in that they are HODL collectors who bring a unique perspective to the group. While not a creator himself, he is a big supporter of all the projects that have come out of our group.
