Thirukural (kural) is the most cherished works of Tamil Literature.

Pope constructed a scenario of how Thiruvalluvar composed his work by borrowing the “ Sermon on the Mount” from Christian preachers and he un hesitantly declared kural as Christian teachings.. but there was a problem he couldn’t over come then.
One has to understand the unmistakable Hindu ethos of Thirukural in order to appreciate the damage done to it.

Christian evangelists used kural and argue “moksha” is not mentioned as in Hindu dharma in the text. But kural was written on the social norms present at that time.
