Having read how teachers across Ireland are increasingly teaching children with diverse backgrounds and planning their teaching around the children's own experiences including their culture and faith, it shows what a common misperception that exists regarding Catholic Schools.
Far from being sectarian, non-inclusive and traditional in their teaching, Catholic Schools in Northern Ireland for example have made huge advances in promoting diversity both in their admissions policies, planning and delivery of lessons.
In just one example of many Catholic Schools, a primary 7 teacher had 30 pupils with C of I, Presbyterian, Muslim, Quaker and Methodist faith backgrounds. So where does the word 'segregation' have any place in these schools?
Only 8 of the children were Roman Catholic out of 30 School Children so the numbers don't add up to anyways label Catholic Schools as segregation. Secondly the teaching methods have radically changed over the past 30 or 40 years post Vatican II.
No longer are the traditional methods of chalk and talk or a prescriptive form of teaching used anymore and hasn't been for a long time. Instead it is pupil centred and brings in their own experiences. It addresses differences in gender, religions and counters stereotypes.
It promotes tolerance and understanding of other world faiths. Yet we hear the integrated education lobbyists who are mostly ignorant of the reality in Catholic Schools and vote chasing politicians accusing Catholic Schools of being sectarian, segregationalist and insular.
If they actually spent time in RE lessons they would most definitely learn how wrong that stereotype is. I remember Jeremy Corbyn actually taking the trouble to visit a Catholic School to watch an RE lesson and in his opinion it was the best he has seen educational wise.
Unfortunately he is the exception rather than the rule and in Northern Ireland the dog whistling on Catholic Schools has continued from a range of individuals including celebrities from a bygone age of a flawed Catholic Education system that has long since disappeared.
Unionism had put in its oar as well albeit for suspect reasons by politicians beating their own divisive drum by constantly harping on about how segregationist Catholic Schools are in their ignorance, often deliberate.
They are the ones who are using this for sectarian reasons to continue to divide communities and parental choice as well as the reality that society is pluralistic and demands parents have a say in which schools they wish for their offspring.
The arguments used by the politicians range from funding issues to having a common curriculum but when you put their arguments to the test or even examine them for any value added contribution to the quality of education or teaching delivered they amount to zero benefits.
It's all empty labels and bland images of one big comprehensive style education system that defines equality as putting everyone in the same box.
Its dull, restrictive and uninspiring except to those who want to cut spending on education by reducing the number of schools serving their local communities. Its politicised and agendised and it stinks of bigotry and bias.
There is always a need for more ongoing consultation around the curriculum being taught in the schools in Northern Ireland but it must not be a loaded one. It must be open to diversity of schools as much as of teaching content and it must be honest and not playing to the gallery.

More dog whistling by the MSM. Two-thirds of anti-vax propaganda online created by just 12 influencers, research finds news.sky.com/story/two-thir…
It is absolutely wrong to claim in the absence of clear evidence from a majority of antivaxxers that they tend to be more aggressive in forcing others not to take the vaccines. There is no survey in existence that can prove that and I defy anyone to prove it that claims otherwise
Secondly, it’s true there is a number of antivaxxers who are light on the facts or evidence regarding vaccines or plain away with the birds perhaps in their conspiracy theories.

Buongiorno! Three ways of making coffee as shown in photo! Automatic Bean to Cup ( DeLonghi), Pods - Krups Machine plus Nespresso pods or the traditional Italian method of stove top filtered brewing. Which is the best?
Having used all three this is my findings/opinion- the only way for best coffee is bean to cup method but rather than spending loads of money on way overly expensive coffee machines these are my tips for great coffee without the huge costs involved in doing so! 👇
I have invested in the stove method using a traditional Italian Biatelli stove top filtered coffee maker. If you have an induction hob on your electric cooker first check it is suitable for induction hobs and not just gas cookers or it won’t heat up.

Allegations of bullying of Tory MP's who criticise the PM's position including threats to defund their constituencies and shame them in the Press is another clear indication if true of just how nervous Johnson is getting with regard to the findings of the Sue Gray report.
In contrast we are educating school children on the wrongs of bullying yet we are now faced with allegations that Johnson and key supporters are bullying democratically elected Tory MP's to put aside their legitimate concerns about Johnson's right to remain Prime Minister.
Apparently Sky News is reporting that Sue Gray has found damning evidence that Johnson was aware of the nature of the garden party at No. 10 in the form of an email. If true then Johnson will not be sleeping tonight.

If Boris Johnson’s statement on the status of the Pandemic facing the U.K. is anything to go by then the public have been gravely misled as to the threat from Omicron as it appears it is just another, more complex mutated form of the flu family of viruses.
We are at the tail end not of a number of cases of the virus but of government fear mongering! Time to admit that the requirement for mandatory vaccination and Covid Passports are an abuse of human rights and no longer sustainable by the government.
If the vaccines do have a degree of protection from the worst case scenarios of ending in hospital then it is not that very different from severe forms of the flu which can equally affect the unvaccinated.

How many of those tweeps that thought it was a good idea to buy into a rigged electoral system set up by Johnson and the Tories actually wrote to their MP’s to oppose its introduction???
The old saying ‘if you can’t beat then join them’ or ‘If you lie down with dogs you catch fleas’ are as contradictory and full of BS as those who propose paying for voter ID’s as it doesn’t work that way. Voter ID cards are free in Northern Ireland. 🤣
However if there is a charge attached then it’s rigged and the know it all’s on Twitter won’t make a jot of a difference to the election outcome should they pay for 10 others to be eligible to vote. Any charge to vote in any democracy is totally corrupt and anti-democratic.
