What was early Bitcoin NFT artist @joehamilton thinking about the intersection between art and tech back when he minted his first work on Counterparty?

And how early was the work?πŸ‘‡
Joe minted "Regular Division" on October 9, 2014 πŸ‘€

One of the cool details of the minting process was that...πŸ‘‡ Image
NFT pioneer @mccoyspace - of Quantum fame - actually assisted in the minting of the piece on Counterparty🀯

A little historical thread on Punycode NFTs🧡which were recently rediscovered by @Devotedwear and @n11stic

These are REALLY interesting, and OLD 🀯 so lest goπŸ‘‡

Age - The first Punycodes were created in 2011 on the Namecoin blockchain (the same chain as the Twitter Eggs).

With only 85 created in 2011 (see chart for numbers by year)πŸ”₯

On-Chain - Punycodes are special because this was the first instance we know of where visual assets - art, symbols, emojis, and text - were encoded onto a blockchain.

This was done using a language aptly named "Punycode" to store the images (example attached)

The hype train has started to DM me to ask about CryptoCrystals - @_cryptocrystal

Is it historically significant?

Well, it is from May 2018, but by that time there were already lots of similar projects. And other than maybe being..
πŸ‘‡
the first 'Crystals on Ethereum' - which doesn't seem that great - I don't see much unique value in the project.

I do believe that the devs had the intention to turn the project into some sort of game where you could merge crystals together..
πŸ‘‡
to form new crystals, but it doesn't look like that ever worked.

Even if the project did have that functionality, multiple earlier projects had already explored that utility.

Now could the devs come back and make their vision a reality.

Sure.

Enough people have asked me my NFT investing strategy, so here it is.

1/7
πŸ‘†πŸΌ
Sell when people are euphoric. 🀩

This is the single hardest thing to learn how to do. Because missing out on additional gains will have you terrified of selling.

Plus everyone in Discord will be telling you to hold.

β€œIT’S GOING TO πŸŒ™!!”

Fight it. Take profits.

A good time to buy NFTs is when people are disinterested.

When was the best time to buy Curio Cards?

In June when no one gave a shit.

Buying when it was boring has you sitting on a 100X win.

Find CryptoArte mint dates on OpenSea. A HOW-TO 🧐

This is important for two reasons:
1. The earlier the better. The first mint was July 13, 2018
2. You want mints BEFORE April 6, 2019. That's the day Autoglyphs launched.

Go to the @CryptoArte official OpenSea page

opensea.io/collection/cry…
3/4
Click on the 'Sort by' drop-down arrow, scroll down a little, and select 'Oldest'

This will list all of the mints starting with the oldest.

You will see 'Painting #400' first, which was one of 10 NFTs that were part of the first minting. The last being 'Painting #9825' Image
