~A thought about established wangxian~ (cw: stupid actions ahead)

"It doesn't mean anything, Lan Zhan. You know I only like you."

"You shouldn't flirt when you don't mean it."

"Aiya, it's just how I talk, sweetheart. I would never think of doing anything. You know that."

"It makes me uncomfortable, Wei Ying."

WWX pauses. When LWJ refuses to look at him, he gathers his boyfriend in his arms and kisses his temple, sighing. "I didn't realise. I am sorry, baby. I won't do it again.

Only WWX does.

LWJ sits there watching, a month after their conversation, as WWX flirts with the bartender. He knows WWX doesn't mean it. It's just how he is. It's all harmless fun but LWJ can't help the tightness of his chest.

He tunes out the voices of their friends around the table and simply watches, trying to rationalize his feelings away. He knows WWX has only ever seen him. They are each other's first and hopefully, they will be each other's last. He shouldn't be so worked up over it. But he is.

He always is.

He doesn't realize when NHS leans towards him. Cupping a hand around his mouth, NHS whispers into his ear, "Do you want to make him understand, Wangji-xiong?"

Normally, he would never say yes to one of NHS' schemes but today he's willing to listen.

LWJ takes a seat at the bar and orders his soda water, before asking the bartender to fill up the pitcher of beer their friends had emptied up.

He offered to go get the drinks this time, nodding at NHS who gave him a thumbs up. WWX was certainly confused at LWJ's initiative-

but he let him go nonetheless, after giving him a kiss on the cheek.

It doesn't take long.

A young man sidles up to his side, ordering a whiskey. He grins at LWJ, his smile charming.

LWJ quirks up a small smile back.

The man blinks in surprise. "Wow, I haven't seen someone so beautiful in...ever actually."

LWJ doesn't really know how to reply. Hes only flirted with WWX, but that's not really flirting. It's just him telling the truth.

So he goes with honesty again. "That is a terrible line."

The man raises his eyebrows. "You think that's a line? Don't wound me like that," he says, placing a hand on his heart. "I would have tried if I wasn't already so distracted by you."

LWJ smiles again, before thanking the bartender as she deposits his drinks. "Cheesy."

The man lets out an exaggerated sigh before smiling again. "If you think everything is cheesy, then how about this? Let me buy you a drink and I will tell you every line I have ever tried on a guy."

Before LWJ can reply, an arm wounds around his waist as an all too familiar voice says, "I can buy him a drink just fine, thank you."

LWJ swivels his head to see WWX standing beside him, his face dark.

The strobe lights of the club flashes on his face and LWJ can see how angry he is as he glares daggers at the man.

He pulls LWJ by the waist until he is standing up. With one last wrathful look at the man, WWX starts walking away, pulling LWJ behind him.

LWJ resists because their drinks are still at the counter and slips out of his hold. WWX turns back, livid, his eyes dangerous in the dark light of the club.

"The drinks," LWJ explains. As he grabs hold of the drinks, he gives an apologetic nod to the man, which makes WWX-

- grab his wrist and pull him again.

As soon as LWJ deposits the drinks at their table, WWX drags him to the back of the club, throws him against a wall and takes him into a searing kiss, all teeth and tongue.

LWJ doesn't get out of it without atleast three hickeys and a smug look on his face as WWX whispers into his ear what exactly he's going to do to him when they get home.

WWX doesn't flirt with anyone else ever again. Well, anyone other than old married aunties.
