🚨🚨 Daily Mirror - ‘As Covid restrictions ease, it's time to get tough on anti-vaxxers’

‘Emmanuel Macron ’s strategy is to “p*** off” the unvaccinated by making daily life more and more difficult for them. Tres bien, but not far enough’

➡️ Covid in France gone through the roof
The USA Health Agency has just issued research showing unvaccinated but have had Covid have significant immunity.

Does the author want to treat these people as social pariahs?

Yet another disgusting piece in the Daily Mirror.

Ive had two vaccines, updated stats on the vaccine rollout and have shown data on how effective they have been

But this constant bashing of people who chosen not to have the vaccine, when many may already have acquired some immunity to reduce risks of serious illness should stop

🚨🚨 Since the start of the pandemic, Wales and England have exactly the same death rate involving Covid-19.

➡️ This despite all the different policies at different times

➡️ Wales has been higher than England the past 4 months

💥 This is the only proper comparison to make
England saw Covid-19 hit first and had the highest rate for the first few months.

Since the policy on restrictions became devolved after the first lockdown Wales has fared worse while having tougher restrictions.
*Typo on chart should say December 2021 of course

🚨🚨 Further falls in patients with Covid-19 on ventilated beds in England & lowest since July.

➡️ Down 14% week on week an 85% lower than last year.

➡️ Numbers in general wards falling too

➡️ Up to 53% of patients in hospital with Covid are in for other reasons
Data here on patients in hospital with Covid but not primarily for it

Remember most of the patients in critical care beds in England are in for non Covid

🚨🚨 @nadhimzahawi - ‘90% of those in ICU are unvaccinated’

FACT CHECK

➡️ Latest estimates in December put it at 61% ❌

➡️ Since then numbers in ICU are down to lowest since July & around 40% in ICU with Covid are in with it but not for it

💥 Minister is misleading the public
The 61% estimate comes from the ICNARC report which you can access and see on page 45 - icnarc.org/DataServices/A…

You can see the latest situation for hospitals in England in this tweet.

Remember most of the patients in critical care beds in England are in for non Covid reasons and more unoccupied beds than there are with Covid patients

🚨🚨 Mark Drakeford - 'What the actual figures show ...is that the measures we took in Wales were both necessary and effective;

FACT CHECK

➡️ No clear evidence restrictions in Wales led to better outcomes than parts of England

I explain the numbers 👇👇
statsjamie.co.uk/drakeford-wron…
You can see the clip of Mark Drakeford claiming restrictions in the devolved nations were effective here.
This is him explaining the data in the slide referred too. Disingenuous to miss out key parts of the data.

🚨🚨 Breaking - Mark Drakeford confirms imminent inclusion of booster requirement to be eligible for a Covid Pass in Wales

➡️ Despite worldwide evidence that highly vaccinated populations seeing rapid spread of Covid - he is ignoring the science

➡️ Power and control not health
Bremen in Germany has the highest vaccination rate and the hardest hit by Omicron.
France have some of the toughest restrictions, even banning people from travelling in from the UK and have massive cases.

🚨🚨 Metro - Daily Covid deaths hit 11-month high as nearly 400 people die

FACT CHECK

➡️ Current seven day average of deaths by when they occur is around 181.

The 400 relates to the day reported including a backlog

💥 Headline misleading ❌❌
We are seeing an increase in the number of people dying within 28 days of a positive test but with Omicron this metric is becoming less reliable.

Over the past 28 days there have 3.8 million positive tests and more will be dying with Covid and not because of it.
At the extreme, if 100% of the population had a +ve test in the past 28 days, every death that occurs for whatever reason would be included.

More people are entering hospital with Covid but not because of it and some will die. This does not necessarily mean Covid the reason.
