1] 🟡Yellow Citizens....

Granted that to whom so much is given, so much is expected!
The New is at a critical stage wherein so much work is to be done.
It involves what the Leadership will do, & what we as Citizens will need to do also.

I draw your attention to these issues 👇
2] #InternalPartyOrganization

In curving a new path, there has to be a departure from the old ways of doing things. Undeniably, the old shell begun carrying so much baggage.

At this juncture, the new has to internally re-organise.
It's a meticulous process that will need time.
3] This process will involve:

•leadership formation
•improved internal structure
•development of clear values, vision
•internal oversight & institutional development
•members & candidates recruitment campaigns
•concrete electoral performance strategies
•party programs
4] #PolicyDevelopment

The new should be big on IDEAS. Consequently, conversations should gravitate towards development of relevant policies & electoral manifestos

Citizens should demand being at the center of formulation of policies that respond to their daily lived experiences
5] Ofcourse, strategic alliances should develop with structures that represent different constituencies, which include labour, women group, youth (student) groups, disability groups, ethnic groups, list is endless.

The core philosophy is, citizens should & will be at the center!
6] #Communication

Again, our political conversations should gravitate towards progressive & pro-transformation discourse

It's time for less & less talk which focuses on the captured puppet party
The focus is now on growing the new & this should dominate everyday conversations
7] Critically, the New should have clearly laid out communication strategies which effectively respond to misinformation, propaganda & leadership contradictions.

Public contradictions (whereas inevitable), cultivate apathy & will drown the citizens' zeel & the yellow momentum.
8] #IntraInterPartyDialogue

Inevitably, there's need for a balance between occupying all the political space & cooperating with others, across party lines.
This will need consensus building with like-minded organisations.
It's not always ideal to have everyone in the new basket.
9] Internally, the trick will not always be on avoiding contradictions & conflicts.

It's rather on anticipating & managing both.
People always bring their own agenda.
The new will attract many & effects need to be managed.

Institutionalise effective internal dialogue mechanism.
9] #PoliticalFinance

The new will need to be financed by it's owners, the Citizens.

Was noticing how almost every new year, the Gov Gazette on party funding has a different name, of the MDC faction ZanuPF prefers funding.

Check the two official notices below for 2021 & 2022 👇
10] The captured MDC, since the SC Judgement, nolonger takes gov to court, over the PPFA funds

They arrive timeously, case in point being right in time for the ensuing by-elections.

Bemoaning this is self-serving.
Citizens should fund their movement, especially our diasporains
11] Party should compliment citizens funding with structured projects.

An opportunity has already arisen through the "yellow fever".

Resources will be needed for party admin (all levels), community dev (party identity) & electoral activities.

Treasury will then need to ACCOUNT
12] #PartyInnovation

Innovation will be key in marketing the new. Young people should dominate this space, as they know what will draw their attention, as a key voting demografic.

Love the #YellowFriday initiative

Moving forward, citizens will need to develop other ideas
13] Innovation will be key in:

•party publicity
•election management
•effective communication
•social media presence
•fund raising
•citizens-leadership engagements
•by-passing the regime's stumbling blocks

Citizens should initiate (and/or fund) these, & other ideas
14] Bottomline is, there's so much to do.

Will develop 👆 those ideas further & will be interested in hearing other views too.

On one end, space should be given to the Leadership, to lead & on the other end, citizens should take charge & ownership.

đź’ˇBehold the new

enkosi!!

1] @CCCZimbabwe President @nelsonchamisa's speech:

"We gathered here today, less than 400 days before the 2023 general elections, 35 or so days before the by-elections. They thought they had dealt us a heavy blow. I warned them, Save left me with a vision of where we are going"
2] @nelsonchamisa:

"They claimed our kraal, & we said stay behind with it, together with your herder, Dhakaboy. You can capture the leaders but can never capture the people. You can even entice some people, but the citizens of Zimbabwe will not tire, until change is realised."
3] @nelsonchamisa:

"We gather here in Highfield where it all began with nationalists. I'm saying to Mugabe, Nkomo, Dabengwa, Tsvangirai, I'm now carrying your work forward and will complete what you had begun. Thank you citizens for keeping the liberation agenda aglow."

1. How does ZanuPF even begin to talk of "the legacy of Tsvangirai"?

Tsvangirai's legacy was never about an institution, let alone a party name.

Why would they admit that the MDC "disappeared", when Mnangagwa captured it & offered it to his stooge, @DMwonzora?
2. One is tempted to ask, if ZanuPF is convinced that MDC is dead & buried in the history books, what is @DMwonzora leading now?

Does Mwonzora himself realise that ZanuPF assisted his MDC takeover, knowing fully well, it would "destroy MDC"?

What happens to their dialogue?
3. But anyway, Tsvangirai's legacy was never about a mere party name.

That is why citizens kept identifying with him, even after altering the MDC electoral name, 3 times.

Tsvangirai's legacy remains 'pursuing a democratic change of government, to win Zimbabwe for change'.

1] Politicians are strange human beings.

This strategy by the ZanuPF youth league to armtwist the 'Zimdancehall genre industry' into their party commissariat department is self-flattery.

Evidently, this free show-cum-rally will attract thousands yet it could be meaningless.
2] The event will be meaningless because all rational young people are fully aware that ZanuPF has no program aimed at changing their lives.

Heck, ZanuPF hasn't introduced any deliberate policy/program to assist those artists on the poster.
The covid situation made things worse.
3] At the end of the day, for those citizens attending, free shows are for fun. For the artists, shows are just another day at work.

Both will probably get what they came looking for.
As for the organizers, this won't bring any meaningful political dividend.

1] Dr. Magaisa:

"After a nervy period of unsureness & deliberation, the political midwives eventually attended to the arrival of the CCC on the 24th of Jan 2022. That date earned a place in the history of party politics in Zimbabwe when MDC-A underwent a metamorphosis into CCC"
2] Dr Magaisa:

"Those who live through moments of history do not usually grasp their significance. It's those who look back and therefore have the advantage of hindsight, who can appreciate the weight of such moments."
3] Dr Magaisa

"It was like that hard moment of a farmer realising that although he loves his animal so much, the best option because it is broken beyond healing, is to put it to sleep. That way he spares it the excruciating pain and himself, the agony of watching it suffer."

1] When your own lies & propaganda start catching up with you...

Mwonzora claims the 2017 MDC-A Coalition still exists, whose Principals endorsed his Leadership takeover.

So many months later, noone knows who these MDC-A Principals are.

No pictures.
No signed media statements. Image
2] Everything about the political behaviour of this Mwonzora MDC-A, clearly shows its different from the 2017 pre-election agreement.

Both MaKhupe & Prof @Welshman_Ncube were right to say "Mwonzora has formed his own MDC-A"

Simple case in point is the "allocation of seats". ImageImage
3] Mwonzora has claimed that PDP led by Matibenga is responsible for recalling MPs such as Biti, Chikwinya, Madzimure because they were allocated those seats.

Fast forward to 2022, all "MDC-A coalition" by-elections candidates are coming from MDC-T.

How then is it a coalition? Image

1] Here are a few political lessons we've learnt so far:

Firstly, Chamisa always had a plan, completely divorced from what his detractors anticipated.

ZanuPF thought they had armed Mwonzora well enough, to isolate Chamisa & relegate him to the dustbins of our politics.
2] Another key lesson is that the Mwonzora outfit never budgeted for a rival party.

They preferred a scenario where Chamisa would fight for the "MDC" name, thereby maintaining a "legal battle" with him & team.

With the frightening levels of judicial capture, this was preferable
3] Another key lesson is that it was strategic for ex MDC-A MPs & Councillors not to resign en mass but allow the Mwonzora outfit to wield their axe.

Adv Chamisa did well in resisting attemps to initiate such an emotional political move, which many were clamouring for.
