Isaiah 58:9 MSG
Then when you pray, God will answer. You'll call out for help and I'll say, 'Here I am.'
*When God Shows Up -Day 1*
*Luke 7v11-17 MSG*
Talks about a widow, whose life was filled with losses & misery. She lived in Nain.
๐๐ผ
She had no name.
๐๐ผHer misery was used to describe her.
๐๐ผMisery had indeed wrapped itself round her like a fitted garment. She was only identified as *THE WIDOW OF NAIN*
๐๐ผ
She had lost her hubby, probably a few months or years back, & now, her only son was gone.๐ฅ
๐๐ผ
Nonetheless, this widow of
Nain proceeded to bury her only son.
๐๐ผ
There were people there pretending to be mourning, meanwhile, they were gossiping amongst themselves..๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
๐๐ผ"When did she lose her husband that we are once again burying her only son?
๐๐ผAre we sure she is not a witch?
๐๐ผIs she the only
one in town?
๐๐ผ
From one tragedy to another.
๐๐ผGod must be punishing her for her sins."
๐๐ผ
By this time too, the grave diggers were waiting. They had completed the task of digging the sons grave, & only waiting to be paid their balance
๐๐ผThe mourners at the graveyard were
waiting too, but, suddenly, the Lord saw her...felt her pain & showered her with compassion.
๐๐ผ
*Luke 7:14 MSG*
Then He went over and touched the coffin. The pallbearers stopped. He said, "Young man, I tell you: Get up."
*Luke 7:15*
The dead son sat up and began talking.
Jesus presented him to his mother.
๐๐ผ
๐๐ผGod Himself showed up when all hope was lost.
๐๐ผThen, her joy was restored.
๐๐ผThen, she recovered all.
Jesus Himself did the presentation.
*And V16, really blew my mind*
๐๐ผ
*Luke 7:16*
They all realized they were in a place of holy
mystery, that God was at work among them. They were quietly worshipful - and then noisily grateful, calling out among themselves, "God is back, looking to the needs of His people!"
*This week;*
๐๐ผEvery "grave digger" will be disappointed
You will laugh last.
๐๐ผYou will be
noisily grateful
๐๐ผYou will b worshipful
๐๐ผYou will be in a place of Holy mystery
๐๐ผYou will see God @ work
๐๐ผYou will call out to friends & neighbours, screaming,*God is back*,luking to the nids of His pple, in Jesus name๐๐ผ @threadreaderapp unroll @buzz_chronicles save as message

*When God Shows Up -Day 2*
The whole of *Exodus 14* shows so much intrigues like no other place in the bible.
๐๐ผ
When the Israelites left 430yrs of
slavery In Egypt, they breathed a sigh of relief.๐๐ผ
๐๐ผ
Their joy was however, cut short when they confronted the reality on ground.๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
๐๐ผThey were in a position that had little or no way out. They were in-between the massive Red Sea & the merciless soldiers of Pharaoh.๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
๐๐ผ
They knew it was a dead end & Pharaoh & his army knew it too. There was no way out.๐ฅ
Exodus 14:3 MSG
"Pharaoh will think, 'd Israelites are lost; they're confused. d wilderness has closed in on them
๐๐ผ Suddenly, God showed up in His Almightiness, in His power, in His Might
๐๐ผ
"Lord, thanks for showing up, but where were You when we needed You most?"
A "sensible" and justifiable question we sometimes ask
Isaiah 58:9 MSG
Then when you pray, God will answer. You'll call out for help and I'll say, 'Here I am.'
Well, this time Lord, you were not around.
You dint "show up" as promised
Mary, one of Lazarus' sisters, knew too well from following Jesus, that He could heal the sick, the possessed, the blind etc, so, when her brother fell ill, there was no other person to call on, but, Jesus, their very dear friend. she then, quickly
sent words to Jesus before things got out of hand, before things became irredeemable.
John 11:3 MSG
ย So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Master, the one you love so very much is sick."
She was fully persuaded He would leave every other thing He was doing and come running,
Luke 8:49b KJV
"...Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master."
I wouldn't blame them for this piece of advice to those who were troubling the Master. Afterall, it was obvious to all, the child was dead
1. They probably didn't really
""KNOW" Jesus. 2. They probably knew or heard He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, healed one or two crippled folks, and the best they probably heard of Jesus was that, when He showed up at Peter's workplace, He did what could be termed as an exceptional miracle. Well,
Elijah did similar stuffs anyways, they said. 3. The knew Jesus to be a gentle and easy going and probably did not show any sign of someone that could raise the dead, someone in the semblance of Elijah who called down fire or Elisha who was a bit temperamental and performed some
- Ps. 109:21-31
A Detroit newspaper reportd that a patient in a local hospital was shot and killed as he lay in his bed recovering from a previous gunshot wound. The victim had been listed in fair condition
prior to the shooting and was looking forward to going home. Hospital patients and employees were stunned. A spokesperson said that nothing like this had happened in the 50yrs of the hospital's existence.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could say the same for our churches?
Wouldn't it be encouraging if we were able to say that in 50yrs of meeting together for worship, fellowship and spiritual healing, we had not had a single instance of a wounded member being cut down by the unkindness of a fellow Christian?
(There is a point God is making here. Do you catch His drift?)
2Con 9v6-11 TPT
6. Hereโs my point. A stingy sower will reap a meager harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest.
7 Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of
religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of givingโall because God loves hilarious generosity!
8 Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everythingโevery moment and in every way. He will make
you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.
9 Just as the Scriptures say about the one who trusts in him: Because he has sown extravagantly and given to the poor, his kindness and generous deeds will never be forgotten.
