1. Grey’s Anatomy. Big show, right? Millions of people watch it. It became like a thing for awhile there, remember team McDreamy or team McSteamy? It was so big, even I know about it as a pop culture reference.

2. Ok, so medical rom/com/dramas may not be your thing, maybe you like rockets. Rockets are badass. The ones that break through Earth’s atmosphere to allow for people to orbit the Earth, travel to the Moon and back, explore the farthest reaches of our imagination, is badass.

3. Ooh or Spies! Everyone likes a good spy story right? The danger, the bravery, the intrigue. The amount of courage it takes to move between two sides of a war knowing if the enemy found you out, you would surely be done for. Risking your own life to save others. Heroic.

4. Nah, Spies aren’t really my thing Joe, I’m more a fan of diplomatic resolutions. I’d like to live in a world where we can sit across from other countries and have discussions in the open, face to face. Like at the United Nations. Yeah, that’s pretty sweet.

5. These are all rather entertaining and altruistic things here, but what about the dough? Show me the money. As a capitalist,I only care about cash, Joe. Well, how about we bridge that gap by merging entertainment with altruism, like on a daily show with millions of viewers.

6. Joe, I’m just a hard working red blooded American. I just wanna put my headphones in, and get to rocking out while I work. I’m not interested in any of those things, I just wanna put on Van Halen and dance the night away. Cool, I’m with you.

Even though it may appear these 6 seemingly random tweets are all unrelated, they are in fact interwoven with one of the strongest elements this world has yet seen. Each of these things forever bonded by a strength we’ve yet to fully recognize.

Do you know what it is? Not yet? Ok, we’re getting there. This is one of those thought experiments I ask you to do from time to time. Each day, we are told what to think, how to think about it, then ultimately how to feel about it. Propaganda fills the airwaves.

We are about to go through this as a country. We are about to be bombarded by dog whistles that will challenge your thoughts on the above list of things MILLIONS of people in this country have absolutely no problem with and actually get a lot from. Don’t let them fool you.

I’m about to reveal to you that the bond between all of those things above is so strong, that it has the power to terrify. That if it was to be fully accepted, people would lose their minds. They are. They are afraid of what this power truly means.

But it’s all going to be ok.

This is not alien tech. This is not some intergalactic sci-fi power. It is here, on Earth and in abundance. We have ignored it to our detriment, we have stifled it, silenced it, beat it, killed it and yet it remains resilient and undeterred.

Alright…here it is…ready?

2. NASA Mathematician’s Dorothy Vaughn, Katherine Johnson and Mary Jackson. 💃🏾Black women.
3. Harriet Tubman, Underground Railroad conductor, spy for the Union army. 💃🏾Black woman.

4. Mary McLeod Bethune was the only 💃🏾Black Woman at the founding conference of the United Nations.
5.Oprah Winfrey was the first Black Billionaire. 💃🏾Billionaire Black woman.
6.Sister Rosetta Tharpe changed the whole game for how the electric guitar is played. 💃🏾Black woman.

Black women have fought for this country in uniform in our armed services, reached the highest ranks, they command our troops. Black women have fought to unify this country by desegregating it. Black women have fought for the right to vote in this country.

Black women have done everything they’ve ever been asked to do for this country and they do it for a better life in this country and they do it for all of us.

When they tell you a Black woman isn’t qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice, remember they said that about our VP.

When they tell you a Black woman shouldn’t be on the court because it isn’t fair to white people, laugh and tell them this country is moving on with or without you.

Don’t be someone Harriet would not have invited to her Northern cookouts.

It’s past time a Black woman ascends to the highest court.
Visibility matters. Representation matters. Integrity matters. When you begin to hear the dog whistles, notice whose integrity and character are really on display. Notice then, who is ‘qualified’ to gain your trust.

“In order to form a more perfect Union” is not just a phrase on a dusty old relic. It is an instruction. It is a challenge to move on, to do better, to recognize all talents and utilize them for our common good. To take steps, all of us together, to form that more perfect Union.

The Justice this country is crying out for now is happening due to the efforts of Black Women. Letitia James in NY is holding the NRA and trump Org accountable. Fani Willis in Georgia has a special grand jury to hold trump accountable for election fraud.

I can think of no better way to move forward toward a more perfect Union than by confirming the first Black Woman Supreme Court Justice. Justice needs a strong Black Woman right now. Support her and let’s take those steps together.
