Former mutuals went from defending Rogan on “free speech” grounds to defending his guests who share #COVID19 disinformation to defending the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration. It was appalling
They asserted that I am uninformed, that the entire scientific establishment is in the pocket of BigPharma, & only “whistleblowers” like Robert Malone have the real answers. As “proof” they offer YouTube videos from the very people pushing disinformation
I had the same sensation I’ve felt in the past when (on occasion) I’ve argued with people who went all in for Donald Trump and/or Q-Anon. Attempts to sway them with logic are met with outright hostility.
The US is in a strange & scary place right now. People are trying to make sense of that as best they can, I get that…but I also think that is what’s behind people doubling down in their echo chambers
We can & must do better.
fwiw I’ve curated a list of working scientists, healthcare professionals, economists & others who I believe are consistently sharing quality information about the pandemic twitter.com/i/lists/146871…

To understand why a pandemic is permitted to run unchecked through much of the West, you must understand the true motivation of those who are pushing the Great Barrington Declaration “let ‘er rip” strategy #COVID9
The actual author of the Great Barrington Declaration, Alexander Caccia, is not only former investment banker, he’s also a defense contractor whose company has been funded by the UK Ministry of Defense since 2017 #COVID9
To make matters worse, Caccia is the romantic partner of Sunetra Gupta, one of the three scientists given marquee credit for the Great Barrington Declaration bylinetimes.com/2020/12/02/min…#COVID9
When governments ignore the pleas of epidemiologists, virologists & decide that the correct approach to the #SARSCoV2 pandemic is “let ‘er rip,” they are consigning huge swaths of society to early death or life long disability. #COVID19
The “let ‘er rip” or “herd immunity” perspective originated from the American Institute for Economic Research sponsored private retreat (October 2020) where three scientists/physicians with Ivy League pedigrees composed the now infamous Great Barrington Declaration
The Great Barrington Declaration called for “herd immunity,” argued against lockdowns, & suggested that young, healthy people have little to worry about.
Politicians & pundits wove a web of misinformation using these ideas that continues to deceive. Why?
Calls for #ReparationsNow should absolutely be taken seriously, not only in the United States but also in England. Any serious historian knows that both societies were built on the backs of enslaved people
Want to see a present day heir living large on the proceeds of the labor of enslaved people? Look no further than current Tory MP Richard Drax somersetlive.co.uk/news/uk-world-…
“Bristol-based historian David Olusoga said: “From the very early stages of the family’s involvement in slavery and the sugar trade, the Drax dynasty were able to generate extraordinary wealth through the cultivation of sugar grown by enslaved Africans.”
Civil War gold, FBI shenanigans, treasure hunters…not your typical Western PA news story apnews.com/article/techno…
The FBI “art crime” team “needed a seizure warrant because [they] feared that if the federal government sought permission from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources to excavate the site, the state would claim the gold for itself” apnews.com/article/pennsy…

The US is hiking Medicare premiums due to the $56,000/year price of Biogen’s new Alzheimer’s drug Aduhelm HT @JenD1974 cnn.com/2021/11/12/hea…
Given the drastic step of hiking Medicare premiums to cover that huge cost, you would think that Aduhelm showed definitive promise for combating the terrible effects of Alzheimer’s disease, right?

As the US outsources its military 5G network to the bloated defense industry, pay close attention to all of the hypocrisy — US government & corporations working in tandem to snuff out competition
I have no quarrel with competition on a level playing field. That’s not what’s happening here. The US is guilty of protectionism largely to protect behemoth domestic corporations whose products are inferior
