Occasional reminder that in 1988 Topps released a trading card series for children called "Dinosaurs Attack!" and it went so fucking hard

This is just such a badass piece of art. The creators of this series had their fingers so firmly on the pulse of everything I wanted as a 9 year old boy in the 80s.
The cards told a sci-fi story about a time portal experiment gone wrong (as they do) that was making all the dinosaurs just appear in random places. The story culminated with the lead scientist confronting this inter-dimensional dinosaur devil:

There was a "Dinosaurs Attack!" comic book adaptation in 1991, which fleshed out the story in a mix of comic book line art and fully painted art, with a lot of fantastic extra scenes:
The back page of the "Dinosaurs Attack!" comic has some good info on the history of the cards, and mentions a film adaptation that was in development with the great @joe_dante. Presumably JURASSIC PARK killed the momentum, but it's never too late to bring this gem to the screen!

Since this thread is making rounds, I'll add that these cards, and other Art Spiegelman work like Garbage Pail Kids, have stayed in my brain and heavily influenced a strain of my work over the years.
