1/ The new #MN legislative session kicked off today, Monday, and we have a list of items we want the legislature to fix in the interest of real criminal justice system reform that prioritizes public safety. We ask you to please contact your legislators.
2/ Today, and for the last month or so, politicians have been grandstanding and pontificating on our rampant crime problem and what they plan to do about it. We challenge them to actually DO something that matters, not just talk.
3/ Remember, it’s an election year.
Every seat in #MNLEG and MNSEN is up for re-election, as is the governor and several other key public safety related positions (attorney general, some county prosecutors, some county sheriffs, etc.).
1/ What in tarnation... This better be a typo (see 6).
Bel Mbungson Tosah, 11/28/1987, of Andover, charged with two felony counts of damage to property by Airport Police.
Charges say on Saturday Tosah damaged numerous items in the Terminal 1 Transit Center at the MSP Airport.
2/ Tosah damaged multiple monitors, dumped trash cans, damaged multiple hand sanitizers, and discharged fire extinguishers. Tosah hit a fire alarm box causing the alarm to sound and broke tile behind the alarm.
3/ Tosah was actively discharging a fire extinguisher when approached by law enforcement. When Tosah was arrested, he stated he wanted to go to prison and made multiple statements about raping children.
1/ As you may know, @CrimeWatchMpls is a volunteer effort. All of the research and reporting we've provided for over 11 years has been done for free as a public service -- because we believe people deserve information that's sorely lacking from authorities & mainstream #MNmedia.
2/ No entity or agency pays us to do this. And while it's our passion to provide all of this information for free, it's not free to produce. There are real costs involved and absorbed by us (equipment, scanners, software, electronic storage and costs for obtaining public data).
3/ In the past we've been able to obtain occasional criminal complaints from various counties or agencies for our reporting (when often a courthouse visit would be required).
As volunteers, we don't have "staff" or resources to be running to the courthouse for documents.
