1] I invite fellow citizens to go through this short article by my brother, @DavidHofisi

After having gone through it myself, I share some personal thoughts over the same, particularly the key issues the author raises, in light of possible "illegalities" facing CCC party...
2] @DavidHofisi, a summary of one of the issues you raised, is on the constitutional provision allowing for the desolution of MDC-A party as per their constitution.

First concern is, you make no direct reference of the actual MDC-A constitution, but rather a MDC constitution.
3] It then somewhat sounds bizarre for me, for a seasoned lawyer, to actually pretend to quote a specific provision of the MDC-A constitution, by actually quoting a MDC constitutional provision (on dissolution).

This legal entanglement actually answers the question you asked.
4] For me, it would have made sense for you to seek to inquire on what the actual MDC-A constitution said about dissolution.

Shifting focus to that, would have us arrive at a point where one then asks, "which MDC-A party"!

Reason being, our "courts" denied existence of such.
5] It's bizarre to burden the "MDC-A party" to explain how they legally dissolved the same, when the institution's entire legal existence was denied.

In fact, before that presser, Chamisa had been "fired by MDC-T party" & was now "partyless" and/or leading a "nameless party".
6] The questions you ask here, only seek to entangle @CCCZimbabwe into another fight with MDC-T.

Of late, MDC-T through Mashakada, is attempting to push the narrative that CCC is just another electoral name for MDC or MDC-A.

Your questions marry with that madness & absurdity.
7] @CCCZimbabwe should (& thankfully will not) be drawn into "dissolving" MDC-A nor "rebranding" it into CCC

Those who've assumed MDC-A leadership, in whatever form it currently exists in, now fully own it & whatever it owns

CCC is a new institution with no relations to MDC-A
8] The second issue you raised is bizarrely misleading.

You reason that without a "congress", the CCC legal existence is thrown into question.

Parties are not formed through a Congress nor a constitution. Whereas both are important, they are simply a "next step" in formation.
9] Many are fully aware of consultative meetings chaired by Chamisa himself, with stakeholders outside "MDC-A party members", on the "way forward", culminating in the FORMATION of a new party.

It's thus mischievous, attempting to reduce the CCC party formation to elitism/cultism
10] For the sake of emphasis, @CCCZimbabwe is a new party, not formed from the ashes of MDC-A, or through resolutions of the membership of the latter, but a broad consultative process altogether.

This is a new institution whose membership are exercising freedom of association.
11] Will however, at face value, agree with you that the issue of Congress & party constitution have to be clarified.

Thankfully, @advocatemahere has unequivocally communicated that the constitution exists, and a Congress will also follow.

Allow all processes to materialise.
12] It might have equally escaped your attention, that a full party launch will follow.

The January 24th presser by @nelsonchamisa, whose legality you're questioning, strategically responded to immediate & relevant political developments, such as the March by-elections.
13] In summary:

a. CCC has no business "dissolving MDC-A party". The consequence of such an exercise is an entanglement with those who claim to own it

For the sake of record,@nelsonchamisa unequivocally pronounced that those pple can claim ownership of everything owned by MDC-A
14] b. Parties are NOT FORMED through a Congress. Congresses are just another step, where a party with an interim leadership of sorts would already exist. For the sake of reference, the MDC of 1999 went through the same.

Your legal inquiries are misplaced & misleading.

enkosi!!

1] Here are a few political lessons we've learnt so far:

Firstly, Chamisa always had a plan, completely divorced from what his detractors anticipated.

ZanuPF thought they had armed Mwonzora well enough, to isolate Chamisa & relegate him to the dustbins of our politics. Image
2] Another key lesson is that the Mwonzora outfit never budgeted for a rival party.

They preferred a scenario where Chamisa would fight for the "MDC" name, thereby maintaining a "legal battle" with him & team.

With the frightening levels of judicial capture, this was preferable Image
3] Another key lesson is that it was strategic for ex MDC-A MPs & Councillors not to resign en mass but allow the Mwonzora outfit to wield their axe.

Adv Chamisa did well in resisting attemps to initiate such an emotional political move, which many were clamouring for.

1] Been taking time, like most citizens, to encourage fellow citizens to #RegisterToVote2023 as well as encouraging that citizens check their registration status.

Have realised a few challenges being encountered to this regards, as well as some information gap.

a thread..... Image
2] #WhenDoIregisterToVote

Voter registration is a all year round exercise. ZEC ordinarily has some 63 District offices & 10 Provincial officers allover the country, where one can register to vote.

Baring challenges affecting ZEC, registration itself is a continous exercise. Image
3] #WhatIsTheBlitzRegistration

This exercise has ZEC introducing "mobile registration" campaigns, meaning that registration centers are brought closer to our homes to compliment their Provincial & District offices.

It's important that all eligible voters take advantage of this. Image

1] Hyellow Citizens 🟡

MDC-T fights have predictable spilled into the courts over money.
However, all indications thus far, are the regime has choosen the Dougie faction, something MaKhupe predicted on her presser

State institutions may very well pounce on her this time around
2] Embarrassingly, none between Mwonzora & Khupe are legitimate recipients of the 2018 PPFA funds.

The MaKhupe MDC-T that participated in 2018 didn't get enough votes.

Mwonzora meanwhile manufactured "2014" structures to form a party, post the infamous Supreme Court judgement.
3] On the part of the regime, the rational is arming any faction that can assist in dismembering Chamisa.

No need to beat about the busy, democracy is expensive, & a party needs funds

The motivation for ZanuPF is ensure the alternative is hamstrung while oiling Mwonzora's group

1] Behold the new is born...

@nelsonchamisa:

"This afternoon we approached ZEC to give them what they didn't except. They thought we were approaching as MDC-A, but we were approaching as a new organisation. They kept insisting, we know you as MDC-A. We are a new organisation."
2] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are coming as a new entity, with a new leadership, new values, new structures. ZEC kept saying: 'tell us you're rebranding'. We are not rebranding. If you know MDC as a brand, please dine with those you've given the name MDC-ALLIANCE."

#CCC
3] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are starting a new party. Nothing to do with the past, nothing to do with the yesterday. We are starting afresh. We'll build from ground zero. We will start afresh. We will defeat them like we did in 2018. We will start afresh."

#CCC

1] As MDC-T splits..

Truth is, the ructions & consequent split of the judicial construct comes as no surprise.

From the get to, faulty lines where always there for all to see.
The MDC-T never had an ideology foundation nor identifiable political constituency to build on. Image
2] #ReasonsForSplit

MDC-T was reconstructed by the regime for the sole purpose of disrupting MDC-A political programs

ZanuPF attempted different ideas aimed at dismantling MDC-A & isolating NC.
Reconstructing MDC-T was part of those efforts to leave the MDC-A internally focused
3] On their part, those who jumped to the reconstructed MDC-T had two things in common.

Firstly, they had all lost different positions (save for Mupariwa), at the Gweru Congress.

Secondly, they all wanted the puppet party Presidency.

The 2nd issue especially, was a faulty line ImageImageImage

1] @Welshman_Ncube:

Meeting with Chiefs

"..they speak of deprivation; general poverty; families going for weeks without access to a single dollar; frustrations over lack of access to seeds & fertilisers; enduring political manipulation. Its not a pleasing picture"
2] @Welshman_Ncube:

"We always communicate hope, that it is within our power to change the condition of our people & ourselves. That it is the essence of democracy that we don't need to take guns or fight anyone. All we need it to be committed to the democratic processes."
3] @Welshman_Ncube:

"No matter how difficult the processes are made out to be, we need to keep encouraging people and traditional leaders to encourage their people to register to vote & seek peaceful transition, that their vote will count one day and that we'll have change."
