Monitoring Road Work: by @kdevforum

Starting point: tender specs
1. Look for basics: footpath? drain? measurement? main road or ward road?
2. If you find things are missing, flag it! maybe drains are missing
3. Know the officials - engg Collaborate
4. 1-2 volunteer per lane

1. Create WhatsApp group, with the officials. Ward Engg, Corporator + sup, Volunteers who are willing to spend time on the ground
2. Agenda: Keep the discussion to road works. Dont let politics take over
3. ID hot spots - mark water lines, cable ducts, pending tasks

What to monitor in #road works?

#1: make sure the surface is prepared well!

Biggest damage to roads happen due to water stagnation.

Roads have to be at an incline so that the water will flow to the side and go into the drains.

Get the work inspector / Engg to do checks periodically.

Very valuable lessons learnt.

& most importantly - make sure you know the engg involved.

If the garbage auto is not coming in, go to the SWM cell, and file a complaint.

Garbage autos are paid Rs 64,000 per month to collect waste DAILY.
