A lot of people when they have sore throat just think it is a minor thing and Go

I have licked tom tom or hot water, it has gone.

But NO
That sore throat might look mild AND disappear now but if not well attended to cause a deadly disease later in future

Sore throat which is an infection of the throat can be caused by Viruses, Bacteria, etc

The one we are worried about is the Bacteria called STREPTOCOCCUS
(I know this sounds familiar STREPTOKOKKUS & STAPHYLOKOKKUS cleanser.. Remember those vendors..lol)

Moving on

When you have this Infection with the Streptococcus that's when you then have the Fever, pain with swallowing sometimes a Rash

The go thing now is people just lick tomtom, go to chemist to buy drugs, hot water & many more

Oh yeah you feel better after all, Disease disappear?

What happens?

The disease disappears because the Streptococcus goes to hide somewhere in the body awaiting its second coming.

Funny thing about Streptococcus is that it looks the Heart and Kidneys. Resemblance somewhat

After so many years then the Streptococcus comes out.

The body launches missile attacks to kill Strept but because the Strep looks like the Heart and Kidneys it destroys them both.

The body attacks and destroys itself. The body damages the heart and kidney unknowingly

Lately we have been seeing cases of Rheumatic heart disease (The heart problem I mentioned) & possible Post strep glomerulonephritis (the kidney one). Sadly young people & young adults. Some died

They come to the hospital they come late with kidney damages & heart valves damage

Some people come with heart valve damage.

In Nigeria now, fixing 2 valves is about 10 million. How many people can afford that.
And only few places in the country can do it.

Some even have the money but die from poor care of the valves or die before the surgery.

Next time you have a sore throat please go to a hospital & see a Doctor. It is easy to treat after simple tests, you might feel fine now but 5 years or 10 years later you don’t know what has hidden in your body
